I need Another opinion!
Theres a place in gosnells on albany highway next to supercheap auto, a second hand motorcycle shop FULL of 250's! Beginners first bike paradise yeah? after looking around and getting all interested i gave a mate a call and he says be careful of the place because they buy alot of accident bikes repair them put a spanking new body on it and sell it to people. I'm just wondering if any1 has bought a bike from there or know some1 that has bought 1 from there got a good deal or bad... Like theres plenty of 250s to choose from ranging from 2.5k to around 7k for the newer models. i'm also aiming towards 1 of the cheaper 1s around 3k, 4k+ but i dont wanna spend the $$ and my bike breaks in 2 while riding on the freeway.
i'm not saying that they are bad! its just what i heard and i need other opinions and i would greatly appreciate it because I WANT MY BIKE!

There are quite a few bikes for sale in the 4 sale section, check them out, some may be a little over your price range (the other forum has some as well), check them all out. At least you know that the majority have been well looked after and if dropped etc have usually only been small drops.
I bought my bunky bike through them and got a fairly decent deal at the time, bike has a couple of minor issues, but overall has been a really good buy.

Not familiar with that particular store, but I live in Gosnells and if you wanted to go and have a look around and weren't confident in dealing with sales drones, I'll be happy to hang with you and take a look at some bikes. I'm not a mechanical guru but can generally spot something drastically wrong and have a fairly well developed bullshit detector.

If a bike has been smashed up but repaired properly, it shouldnt be an issue.
Unless it had frame damage in the accident, and then I wouldnt touch it.

One of the guys there was pretty good when I was bike shopping a while back. He was quite honest about the bike I was interested in (thought it might be too much of a 'boy' (read bling) bike ) and didn't give me the run around. A lil titchy about taking it out for a test ride due to insurance (apparently) as I was on L's tho
I wouldn't write them off, but def take someone with you to check them out. Mechanic Derek Ball (0438 926 511) will have a look for a small sum if he's available < shameless promotion ... may give you peace of mind...

hey mate i just bought my bike from there on Monday and he really looked after me. He's very honest about the bikes he sells as far as i can tell, and he showed my mate and I a couple of bikes he has out the back which he said were pretty typical of what he deals with, a couple of very nice big bikes with minimal damage and he just fixes them up and sells them on. He seemed pretty good to me and I'm happy hes delivering the bike tonight, cant wait!!

yeah sounds like he deals with right offs, i recently came off mine, nothing mechanically wrong just alot of scratches and scrapes, and it was nearly a write off.
still get it looked over mechanically but just cos an insurance company declared it a write off doesnt mean its a wolf in sheeps clothing

if ur brand new to bikes and choosing between the fzr and nsr, I'd recommend the fzr. Easier to learn on imo, and being a 4 stoke 4 cyl, still reasonably quick for a 2fiddy. Been told by many people 4 strokes are much easier to learn on, and I agree.

i took some photos that day i went there but they seem to be too big to be attached.
well ill just let u all know what im considering
suzuki across250 60ks odo new body/paint 1991 $3500
yamaha fzr250 40ks odo new body/paint (again) 1989 $2800 and while i told him i was browsing around for a 250 he pointed out this bike since it was cheap but im kinda hesitant because its from 1989 2 years younger than me?
honda nsr150 repco body alot of scratches and what not but i still like the bike ! 3500$
and theres a few zzr250 and cbr250s ranging from 2.5k to 5-6k
most of them look great honestly, but as a unexperienced noob like myself i want the cheaper bunkies due to the fact im pretty sure ill drop it even though i reckon i wont, even some of the experienced friends that i know drop their bigger bikes and never their first 250 due to the huge increase in power. but i keep thinking if i get 1 of the bunkies and something breaks and the cost of maintenance + bike = to 1 of the newer more $$ bikes really fustrating!
no1 went thru the same thing?!
