You'll be fine. Remember to breathe and relax and don't over-concentrate, just ride. Pretend like you're having a lesson and not the test. Good luck.

Hi everyone, have been lurking for ages now but am pleased to report I passed my R-E test yesterday. Yippee!! Can't wait to get my zzr on the road but am giving it the big once over and full service tomorrow (as I bought it 2nd hand and blew up the engine before even getting to officially ride it, so now with a new 2nd hand engine and $$$$ later we try again ;-) ) Once given the all clear.... I will be on my way. Hope to see some of you around. Jodes

Oh my God... I can't believe I passed... long story below...

I was tossing and turning from 11pm to 3am, 3am until 7am I got some sleep but I have no idea how much. Last night's Dominos pizza is haunting me. I get a call from Anthony at Elite in Belmont and he's wondering where I am. Oh crap, I told him 1 hour early then what it actually was. He was cool about it and said come in at 8:45am instead and it'd still go ahead. WHAT A CHAMP! Come in, head off to West Perth, my riding is mostly fine on the freeway down there. Go around the area, I'm shitting myself, doing everything wrong, slipping on hills, resting on kerbs. When I did the O-turns I was cutting way too close to the kerb and eventually dropped the bike and ended up holding it by the throttle.

At this point I was questioning whether I should even bother to continue. We moved on from that and went and did the 50-0 braking, did the braking part fine but kept doing it on the oil slick and doing the O-turn to come back around again was going into the parking lanes.

Went in, got Marika (?), she was a legend, very nice, very friendly even grabbed me a cup of water. I made sure I had quite a few very deep breathes before went off. Kept taking deep breathes all through out the assessment. I aced it, she said I was one of the best she'd ever seen and even asked me if I had ridden motorcross before (no history on motorbikes at all).

    OMG OMG OMG.

Seriously, all props to Anthony and Marika, they were absolute champions. Thanks to Mark at Elite for my training prior too!

So do you think you are ready or was it just nerves?

    Congrats by the way.

    Definitely ready.

It was just nerves and the bad morning. I'm comfortable riding on the road but I'll be doing a roadcraft course with Elite when I get my bike because despite the fact I've got my license there are still areas I can improve in.

randomman- i know what you mean about the nerves, i was a nervous wreck before the test.

Thanks to Lenny from M.T.W.A. He really helped me out, he's a very thorough instructor which i thought was really good.

I'm off to work now, on the ninja
