it's viable someone on here did it with a CBF250 and it made it more pleasant to ride, slightly higher top speed and better fuel economy when cruising, what's your priority? acceleration or economy?

Do you remember the good old days before the internet?
when arguments were only entered into by the physically or intellectually able.
economy
Sitting on the freeway at 8k rpm is annoying
I didn't expect to lose so much. The main cause was the 250 price drop after I purchased my bike.
Yes I saved in fuel - but whatever I saved I lost through devalue of the vehicle and service costs and the odd repair.
Battery $70
Rear brake master cylinder $300
Service $200 (x3) $600
+ depreciation $2500
TOTAL: $4100.oo
I'm not whinging, thats life. What I am saying is had I purchased a Ninja 250 or a GT250R my loses could have been less on the resale.
The bike is fun and I had a great time, but I would not recommend a Comet unless you buy an old bunky that has had all the work done to it (battery etc).
buy a Honda....they hold their value...
unlucky i lost about 8% of the value in just about 2 years on my bike, plus the general money spent i didnt throw away money like you happen to.
Generally i would say 1400 would go a long way on a new/big bike. 250s should hold their value well, maybe the influx of new 250 models from the top producers has caused a slump, but mostly everybody seems to agree a big bike is way more fun then a 250. So to spend an extra 1400 on a 250 isnt a great thing to waste money on, I know this has been mentioned ebove and all. My opinion still stands, i spent what i had to on my 250 i hope it wasnt too much but for an 06 model it sold very well this year, 1400 seems like quite a bit of gold to through away on a 250, with more to come i can just imagine/dream what i would do with 1400 on my new bike, Speedohealer, exhaust, led mods, seats, riding gear just all pop up.
My CBF made me $1,100 in the time i had it.
Pretty stoked with that arrangement.
Where did the stigma for Kwaka's come from??
Anyhoo, Ive got a 81 cb250n that im playing with. So far i reckon ive only spent maybe $300 on it and that has gotten me carby rebuild/ jet kit, carb boot orings, new fork seals, head stock bearings, headlight brackets, indicators and stem bearings. I have in waiting a 17" reverse cone muffler that will be at the end of a 2 into 1 system that im making/having made.
Future (ie, after rego) plans include a more modern master cyl + caliper setup. R6 front left calipers can be had pretty cheaply. Relocating all the electrics to under the seat, modift air box, cafe racer seat, clipons, set of posh mini gauges and a new paint job.

Dropped 4k on my RGV in the past two weeks... Very easy to do!
