Learn to ride... uh... rides.
We all know summer is coming up and the great riding weather is soon to be upon us.
I am going to be starting a "Learn to ride, ride" once a week. This ride will be different from Stonies LNR. Basic differences include:
- Emphasis on those who are on a learners and want more time to practice low speed maneuvers (O-turns)
- Road positioning for increased visibility to other road users
- Awareness of surroundings
- Group riding etiquette (Do's and don'ts)
This is not intended to be a social ride. Purely instructional for those who think they need it. If you want to attend and already have an R-class, unless you intend to shadow or truely do need to learn something, please don't attend. I only request this because myself and any other shadows who wish to help will be doing so on our own time for no pay. I don't have the patience to run a social ride at the same time
Again this is not a replacement for Stonies LNR/NNLR social rides. This is intended to be an instructional ride from someone who has been around long enough to have learnt things the hard way.
If there are any shadows who want to lend a hand when they can it would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers.

I'd be keen for participating if this got up and running i reckon. You do the lessons to get your license but would be good to keep the learning process going.

Depending on time & location, I'll lend a hand.
Need some work on my "emergency stops" anyway

Thats the general idea.
There is learning to ride to pass a test. Then there is learning to ride to stay alive.
I hope to impart some knowledge on the latter.

Yeah I'll be up for helping out too mate.
1 Shadow per rider, and keep them to small groups I reckon.

I'd be very interested in this, think i might need some more time on the road before going on a group ride though.

I think thats the point of these rides, to get you confident and learning. Its not really a group ride

I'd love to attend these to learn. I'm progressively learning everything the hard way and it'd be great to catch some pointers in a more constructive manner.
Plus I need to learn group ettiquite considering I've never been on a group ride. Soon enough I'll feel confident enough to actually go on a proper social ride with you guys. These learning-specific rides though would be great.
