Learner bikes with ABS and R-E test E Stops

    Hi there,
With the release of the new optionally ABS equipped CBR250r soon approaching, Is it ok to be tested on your e-stops with an ABS bike?

The same question would apply to R class bikes.

I've already got my r-e so just curious about this. I think there is benefit in learning how to front brake properly but the technology is more than welcome on bikes, will the skill become less relevant in the future?

I guess stopping in 12m is stopping
    in 12m.

    DrRockso.

Whatever you ride skill is still relevant, abs wil not prevent stoppies, or flipping it.

Also when abs activates releasing and re-applying brakes due to poor technique
    stopping distance will dramatically increase.

abs bike is good to learn on though, as it will help mitigate against any bad attempts at hard
Braking, rear wheel lockup doesn't occur though and when you move to a non abs
Bike, you should be aware of this.
hopefully you should be practicing with minimal rear brake and have no problems adjusting though

All legit for test centre, good bike to use

You still need to have the confidence to squeeze hard - the requisite 12m can easily be done without getting anywhere near lockup on any half competent bike.

I imagine it would be fine, given what is said above plus the fact that cars with ABS are perfectly acceptable for the car license test!

Well they're slightly different on each bike, they don't all use the same ABS system. But it would be fine, they won't mark you down or anything for it.
