Congratulations on the new bike!
Alot of people have a less than high opinion of Hyosung and you may cop some grief for having one. It's generally all a good natured dig so don't let it put you off. You only need to ride it for a year before getting a real bike anyway so ride the shit out of it and learn as much as you can.

Be happy it's a beauty (and listen to no one who gives you shit about it )
Also I hope you got one that doesn't have those greeblies in it that makes you breakdown regularly.

Hey James, i like it......... well i have to say that cause i have one as well but seriously they aint that bad a bike no matter what is said about them hey, the pipe and tinted screen set it of m8. Maybe think about doing a fender mod on it as well, i did mine using the original stuff... just modify it. Let me know if ya want a hand to do it, cleans up the back end heaps.

I've got the same setup, looks sweet, sounds better.
I never take pillions, so i've taken the grab bar off the back, makes it looks heaps tidier.
my 2c.

Nice new bike mate,
I recently just bought the same model but in Red. Its been said before but some people will give you hass about it but ignore it all. It is a starter bike and you will love it. I go out riding with blokes on CBR600 etc and i have just as much fun...you can throw it around a bit.
Iv found that riding the hyo is a good way to learn to ride a begger bike cause it is bigger then your usual 250.
Have fun on it and ride safe

Congrats!
You'll also find that it is very stable and very civilised ...but as far as the built quality goes ...well, I hope you'll have better luck than I had with mine.
Try not to rev it too high while you're breaking in your engine - at least not for the first 800kms. After that you can give it some work out to stretch its little muscles a little but still don't go high-wire until you reach 1600kms. Avoid overheating the engine while you're breaking it in. Needless to say, your first service at 1000kms is very important.
As for breaking in the tires. I've heard lots of criticism addressed at the shinko tires but I haven't personally had any problems with them (yet). Don't try any knee dragging until you break them in properly - from memory the manual recommends some 1000kms.
As for petrol consumption, with the stock parts and settings you should be able to pull about 450kms out of a full tank for normal city/hwy riding. This equates to about $23/450kms (it has a pretty large tank for a 250). Not bad consumption.
Last weekend we went for a group ride to Lake Lesh and then had some fun on those roads up in the hills and ended up in Kalamunda. Eugene with his RGV250 (see my photo gallery) had to refuel his tank twice whereas with my hyo I only had one bar off the fuel scale by the time I got home (and I live SOR). My petrol tank is still 80% full.
My 2c...
Cheers and enjoy it while it's covered by warranty! Come and join us on rides, great fun I tell ya!
