Ok so I recently bought my first bike a 2010 Ninja from Causeway Kawasaki and I took it out for my first long ride with my old man out to Mundaring, when we finally reached the top to pull over for a stretch, we got back on for the ride back I couldn't get it to change out of first gear. We pulled over and tried for ages trying to get it to change past neutral into 2nd, and only when we decided that we both had no service and the only option was for me to ride back in first, then while riding back it started to work again. The problem is i took it to the kawasaki shop and they said that as its not a recurring problem they could still open it up and have a look but if they find no defect the remaining warranty wont cover it, but the guy said it may be a spring in the clutch plate or a selector issue. Now im stuck because the lever is working again but i cant pay for it if nothings wrong and I don’t want to go on long rides for the fear of it happening again
So has anyone else experienced these problems before? Do I have any legal stance with the shop as I’ve only had the bike 2 weeks? i.e. a loan bike while its in the shop?
