Here's an old 250 .... 1975 Bully
Fond memories ,,, and I bet very few will have seen one ![]() Custom made expansion chamber and upgraded to a motocross piston barrel. It lasted about 2 years until the big end went. ![]() I could lift this off the ground to turn it arond...and I was a 60kg weakling back then. Gzr ![]()

Good stop off for bike specs (all models) (Most of them are pretty correct) + a couple of manuals for some models

My first bike - the 1982 Yamaha XS 250R - very nice bike good for larger people (like me), used to grind everything on the corners - centerstand, exhaust, footpegs and nothing fazed it, very reliable too ( for a Yamaha)
Only difference was it was blue like this one XS250, they also came out as a XS400

Wow this brought back some memories. I started with a Kawasaki Z200, but that's not a 250
Next was a Suzuki GT250 X7 (never did find out what the X7 was for but it was a two stroke and went like hell, I was surprised. Was also my first two stroke bike.*I*had*the*later*model*I*think*1979*or*81*per haps.*It*was*red*and*did*go*fa t.*hehe Heres a link. |

Yamaha SDR200
I've got a grey import Yamaha SDR200 and its an awsome bike. Its a single cyclinder 2 stroke with cafe-racer styling and is a comlete hoot to ride. I've not seen another one yet in oz. It only makes about 34 BHP but has quite a bit of torque and only weighs in at just over 100kg's. It was definately made for the smaller japanese rider as I'm onlt 5 ft 7 and its really small and too uncormfortable for me!
Google it and have a look at some pics of it. |

![]() Another 250 Ning-ning, was Australian Motorbike of the YEAR!! in 1984!! Almost completely forgotten but at the time knocked the Yamaha RD-RZ 250 of their mantlepiece for one year. Robbie Phillips did race one in the proddie250 series. ![]() I am chasing another 250cc watercooled 3 cilinder Ning-ning for my collection namely the MVX 250 Honda. Haven't seen one for sale in 2 years |

Yep you are correct in what you typed there, BUT it was the forerunner of the NS400R and due to it's uniqeness, (was only on the market for a very short period,) I would like one in my collection.
Honda fixed the problems, but it harmed it's reputation and,.. it was not fast enough to give the Yammies a run for their money. Missed that Aution. |
