Sachs x-Road250... looks like a good thing

Anyone know much about these? Just stumbled across them while browsing teh webz. I have some mates looking to get into road bikes and saw one in that bargain classifieds thread on PSB. Might be a case of bark worse than bite, but they look the shizz IMO.

They're a great value for money bike with excellent power for a commuter. Will impress your friends and have them jealous with envy. Don't be left at the bus stop, get one now. You have been warned.

@ frogger... somewhere around $4500 on road. One on Gumtree for $2000 with <500km on the dial.

A mate was looking at buying one of these. He took it for a test ride and said it was totally gutless. Company has been around a really long time (since 1886 according to Wikipedia)
"There's a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious—makes you so sick at heart—that you can't take part. You can't even passively take part. And you've got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you've got to make it stop. And you've got to indicate to the people who run it, to the people who own it that unless you're free, the machine will be prevented from working at all"

It looks the goods - but seems it might struggle on the freeway a little. Shame.
