Now that's the test-passing kind of attitude we all like to see.

Have you heard of a concept called "task loading"?

FFS - keep it simple, concentrate on just. doing. the. test. that day.

Coz otherwise, when the service runs late, you're going to be stressed and DPI "will fuck you over again" as a result.

JUST DO THE TEST. If you pass, you can get your bike serviced any time.

Good luck...

yeah ive spend around 600 dollars on tests lessons and bike hire now, and i do everything right but then nerves get in the way and create some small error which the assessor can pick at and fail me for, which i think is pretty dumb because they say it may save my life but IMO 600 dollars towards some better gear would go alot further than making me resit test after test.

Bummer. I suggest you get there with plenty of time to spare and have a practise run/warmup beforehand. That way you will be warmed up and have time to settle your nerves.

Protective gear is certainly worth the money but as they say, prevention is better than cure - especially if avoiding a 'small error' saves your life!

Fingers crossed you get over the line tomorrow.

yea every time i try to have 30mins - 1 hour to practise and get a feel for the bike before my test, its just knowing how picky and critical the assessors are that makes me nervous, they are always looking for shit to fail you on

Harns - they can and do fail people for being nervous.

No I am not joking.

Try and relax - they are not looking for a reason to fail you. They are not out to get you no matter what you think.

They are just doing their job.

Dont think of the assessor as someone who is picking the shit out of your riding.... Think of it as a casual ride with a mate, you will feel a lot better and less nervous. And if you think you have stuffed something up, just shrug it off and continue... Oh and smile! Sounds gay but helps calm you a bit

This is how the assessors look at it:

"Young bloke.... Motorcycle.... Made a few small errors in the 1/2 hour I spent with him... Errors that could, in the worst case scenario, cause him to lose his life...... Hmmmm..... Should I give him the benefit of the doubt.....? Hmmmm.... Perhaps not."

In cases like yours I suggest "massive overkill" in the preparation for your test.

Also, get to the test centre AT LEAST an hour before your test. That way you can have a decent practice run/warmup and then return to the test centre with enough time left over for your nerves to settle before the assessor takes you out.

Where is Mt Claremont ?

I agree with the others, forget the servicing and get some miles on before the test.

I can help you out. I can't make 8am though. I can do like, 9.30, give you two hours of riding and whatever practicing you want to do, then take you to do your test.

edit, make that 9am for two hours riding and get to the test centre by 11.
How does that sound ?

He lives up near the Swanbourne barracks Rocket, would be good if you could get him, so I don't have to take time off work again tomorrow, gets to be a habit, I won't want to go back

Mate, unless you are very very lucky, you aint gunna get the bike serviced between now and 9am.
Best to leave it until after your test.
Unless there's something wrong with your bike, a few extra hundred k's won't hurt anything.
PM me your addy and mobile number and I'll get back to you later today and we'll make a plan.

sounds like you're just having test anxiety, would help to learn to relax before the test, do some stretches (yoga) and remember to breathe. I bet that'd help you more than practising before the test.

Today I had my test had 2hour of lessons then my test. When i was on my test i just pretended it was my instructor, forgot about him and focused on everything i had to do.

Forget the Service dude, you'll be stressing because itll more than likely take longer than that or runn late.

Good luck! Hopefully be riding with ya soon mate!
