Don't know about R class but when I was looking for a big bike in Feb after ~ 10 years without owning one I went for loads of test rides at various dealers and they all had me sign a "rental agreement" before the test ride basically stating if I crashed I paid first $2000 excess. The only one that did not just hand me the keys was a shop ( the first shop actually ) in Joondalup, as I was not really sure what type of bike I wanted ( apart from needing to be quite large for my 6'1" /130kg frame ) he shadowed me as we went out - me on a 600 hornet and him on a VTR1000 through Ocean Reef then we swapped bikes ( not sure what he thought when I lofted the front wheel coming back onto Marmion towards Shenton Ave though ) Did get one that queried the "K class" on my licence though as the licence was a 5 year job which still had the old classes on it FWIW I would have walked out the door if any had said buy without a test ride because as it turned out after riding several types of bikes several times I really started to narrow down which bikes were comfortable and suitable for the 45-50 min ride to work and back up to Wooroloo at highway speeds

I've always done well for test rides (ten in 2 years) as when I ride the sales person usually knows what I am about...

I think alot of it is about what they think of you......

I have been to some dealers and they are too corporate robot text book ie sign form then shadow you through a course...

Others dealers I prefer let me get out and do it my way usually after signing the insurance, ie enjoy the bike without hurting it, upto a couple of hours if I like....

Who am I gonna prefer to deal with or tell people about... easy answer
