Testing riding big bikes with a RE licence.

So im getting closer to getting my R's

I was wondering if anyone knows of any shops that will shadow you and let you test ride big bikes.

one of my mates said he got shadowed on a test ride i forget which shop.

I'am really interested in a GSX-R after just ringing Lloyd chapman they require a R class licence.

Please post up your experiences of shops that let you!

    Thanks

would you go for your test on your own bike then?

i'm wondering the same thing, but since i probably want to keep it longer than my 250, i think i will want my R's first so i can test ride more bikes with the freedom of choice, rather than just the ones that allow it with a shadow.

I've thought about this a lot too, and come to the decision that I will wait till I have my R class so I can test all the bikes i want to try, and i don't think if I had my R class bike sitting in my garage I would be able to resist not riding it.

I've asked at 5 Star Yamaha, and JCS and they were both willing to shadow me on a test ride. Just bring in some proof of your R learners.

It will also depend whether they have demo bikes to ride or not.

A bit left of centre, but what I did is track down a riding instructor who's R class learner bike is the same as the bikes your considering riding.

A lot of instructors are associated with stores and you might be able to wrangle a one hour lesson on a demo. I spoke to one instructor who uses a lot of bikes from Rick gills so there are probably a few honda's with him you could probably try out. Might be worth asking.
