    Too good to be true

    Hi,

I just found this great offer on a 2011 kawasaki ninja 250r on Sumoto Motorcycle L World. $30/week finance (practically interest free) free australia wide delivery (from victoria) and $1000 worth of riding gear. Then I noticed that the bike had rectangular reflectors on the front fenders, aluminum mufflers and cheap looking finish (it may just be the camera). They had green, black, blue, and white. While most "official" dealers i visited only supply black and red.

I know it isn't a problem. But i just wanna make sure Im buying what everyone else's buying, and not some kind of black market smuggling deal. This is just too good to be true!

To any dealers out there. What do u guys think?

and No, this is not an advertisement (Or don't intend to).

Sumoto have about as bad a reputation as any business can possibly get. I'm amazed that they are still going.

Google search Sumoto. They have been bringing in grey imports for years and have been accused of selling and older bike as a newer bike. Apparently they use the compliance date as a 'build date'

These guys are well known for taking a 1988 cbr250rr putting new fairings on it and saying it's a 2008 cbr (year it was imported) while charging a small fortune for an old bike. The deal your looking at looks like the real thing tho as the 250r are new bikes - but do you really think $6990 for a 250r is a great deal thats too good to be true? Sounds about right to me...

It also looks like they have some kind of made-up finance business called Moto Money. Just doesn't look convincing to me.

Did i mention about the free delivery which would cost at least $1000, then u get $1000 worth of gear and finally interest free which would usually be about another $1000.

If you bought locally you wouldn't need delivery... $1000 of gear at rrp is prob more like $500 and have you checked the local dealers Interest rates (and the small print of the finance deal)... I'd do your homework first if I was you...

Ok, so maybe not all members of perthstreetbikes.com are from perth. Maybe you don't agree that the gear is worth that much. Maybe you want to pay more interest. And you don't agree thats this a good offer. However, my question still is, is the bike the real thing.

Venda it's a long way off being "too good to be true." You'd be better off buying an 08-09-10 with low ks on it for ~6K and spend the rest on the $1000 of gear you want so badly. Instead of creating arguments with people who don't tell you what you want to hear, just go and buy the stupid bike, wait for the delivery and find out for yourself if it's too good.

Looks like some kind of black market smuggling deal, but you should be fine.

does that free delivery aus wide include shipping it back to them if something fucks up ? wat kind of warrenty do they offer. i seen they had zxr250's with new fairings marked as new bikes and price about the same as the new ninjas. due to that i believe they are untrust worthy and i would steer clear.

Okay so ive done some "extensive" research for you....

    Sumoto:
Free helmet- Cant imagine it'll be a good one
$200 delivery australia wide (CONDITIONS APPLY) Good luck with getting it for $200
Bike is UNREGISTERED so you'll need to pay for registration once it arrives
6 month warranty (PARTS ONLY) Have fun shipping the bike back when something goes wrong
They have 2010 CBR250RR's for sale (even though they are 1990 models) DODGY!

    Kawasaki Dealership:
Can walk in pick your bike and generally a few days later ride away (your not waiting for shipping)
    No delivery charge
Can generally negotiate on registration/bike price
Bike will be registered when you pick it up
(heres the winner) 2 YEAR UNLIMITED KILOMETER WARRANTY
Finance rates are not actually to bad so you wont pay much more than $30 per week anyway

You said it yourself in the title "to good to be true" You came on a community based forum selling the bike to yourself and asked for advice, you got the advice from people who have had dealing with this company yet you seem to be ignoring what people are saying. So if you want the bike buy it! just don;t come on here complaining if things dont turn out as peachy as your expecting....

You realise that the $1000 worth of gear is a value that THEY attach to the gear they sell? I can value my Joe Rocket Meteor Boots at $500, doesn't make it so.
Considering that Dale Britton just had a pretty big sale on the EFI Hyosungs for $6500 rideaway, AAAAAND Honda has released pricing for the ABS 2011 CBR250R for $6500 rideaway, this is NOT too good to be true.
Hence nothing could possibly go wrong with this deal! Do it!
PS, no one is upset. And if anyone could possibly BE upset it would be you, since none of us here would have any cash invested in any of this.

Can anybody think of what exactly did i say that gave u the impression that i'm ignoring? I get it ashmo, u dun need to rub it in my face. We all know it's not a great offer, forget about the price, but I can't change the title. Thank you to those for giving me a helpful, sensible answer i was looking for, without hating the new kid only cause everyone else seem to be.
