How many km's should I expect to get per tank for my 09 VTR 250?

Bike colour?
May the force be a considerable distance behind you.
Not Red. Not Black. White.
Seriously, there is sooo much it depends on. Bike tune, modifications, bike load, speed, riding habits, terain, weather....

as above, depends on the tune and mods and even milage and wear and tear on the engine, but most importantly how you ride it, when my wife and i had our vtr i got 175kms before reserve she got 250kms before reserve, my question would be why do you need to know?
If it's for the sake of knowing when to fuel up i'd say 200kms should always be safe, if you run out and hit reserve at 175kms then you know for next timejust remember to turn the tap back to ON when you fuel up, or there may be tears next time when you run out of fuel at 200kms and realise you had it on RES already.
Do you remember the good old days before the internet?
when arguments were only entered into by the physically or intellectually able.
With me on a 250, I'd be lucky to get 150 I reckon.

I wanted to know simply because I am inexperienced with bikes and want to make sure that my newly purchased bike is behaving normally and not damaged. Paranoid I know but she is my baby. I got approximately 170km myself before hitting reserve twice.
170 sounds normal enough to me but i ride them fairly hard, my wife puttered around and got heaps more per tank.

:O
WTF?! the fuel consumption for a VTR is around 4.5-5LT / 100km! (or around 25kms p/LT = 325kms tank, without 2Lt reserve makes it to 275)
13Lt tank should get you to at least 250kms before hitting reserve , Yep i'm throttle happy 'n' 6" -100kg so i'm not a small fella either.
Mod wise just a custom zorst.
170km before reserve sounds wrong, sure you're filling it up properly?
My bike just just had it's 6k service yesterday and just filled it up. I'm sure its not that difficult filling a tank up. It took just over 10 liters and I'm going to see how it does now.
My 06 gets about 260 a tank which includes going $1.40 for a few k's, i weigh just under 100kg, and have the throttle fully open most of the time.

I filled mine afer 130km yesterday... 4.3 litres...
Regularly aim at 220-240 kms as the return on a tank, normally always in that range over the last 12 months
Really heavy on the throttle my 06 gets about 270 before reserve, commuting at a decent (not slow by any means) pace I fuel up at 300, normally hits reserve around that mark.
i asked my brother who has my old vtr now he's getting 280 before reserve on the highway and 320 before reserve round town. The highway kms are worse than the round town due to holding 110km/h on the highway not being as economical as the 60-80km/h range
He is same height as me but 30-40kg lighter and a fairly new rider and learned on the bike, so he's much softer on the throttle etc than myself or my wife were as established riders using it for fun.
Being realistic though and looking at other peoples figures my 175km before reserve should only be expected from a track day or very spirited country riding, the 250km before reserve figure my wife was getting seems to be much more normal.

I have to say that the general consensus concerns me a little although I will wait to see how many kms I get with the next tank.
I got 280kms out of mine and that was giving her heaps trying to keep up with the big boys, so I would expect to get 300kms if I baby her. Just ride her to the reserve and find out, you won't do any damage by flicking her to reserve and riding to the nearest servo.

2004 VTR - 10,000kms.
I safely refill at 200kms. I use it for commuting (Lesmurdie - Leederville).
Had gone just past 225kms when engine started to stutter and I had to pull over before it cut out. The engine stalled at very low k's and nearly dropped my bike coz of it![]()
Note to self: Turn reserve tank on before I ever reach that point.![]()

05 VTR, stock.
80kg mostly freeway speeds. 250km before reserve.
