    VTR 250 steering lock problem

gday all I've been trying to use the steering lock on my vtr and come across a bit of a problem, the manual says to engage steering lock push handlebars all the way to either left or right, push key in and turn to the lock position. this works fine when the handle bars are to the right but the key wont turn to the lock position when the handle bars are to the left. any ideas as to why this is happening?

You'll find that you shouldn't have the handlebars ALL the way to the left. Just turn them all the way left, and then back right about an inch or two. Do this with your key in the ignition and trying to turn it as you move the bars around, that way you can establish a feel for the point at which it will allow you to lock the steering.

Kinda hard to explain, but basically just moves the bars around until it allows the key to turn all the way around.

I used to have the same problem with my vtr, but just got used to it and its not really a drama at all.
