    Vtr250 07

    Hi guys,
Just got a 07 VTR250, wondering how much can you do on a tank before reserve? And how much more to go after reserve?
    Cheers,

It varies greatly I used to get 180 from my 07 to reserve but most get closer to 250, reserve would be 30 to 50 at a guess from those two figures, I'd suggest fill the tank and ride around as normal for 200kms and then refuel and take note of litres used this will tell you km/L and you'll know for sure if it can make 200 before reserve, then ride til it hits reserve and note the kms, refuel as soon as possible and you'll have a fair idea how many litres are left and how far they will get you.

How big is the tank on these? I used to get 300km+ easy on my ZZR250 back in the day. Take note of how much fuel you re-fill after you hit reserve. Say if you hit reserve and fill up 10L worth of fuel and you know its a 14L tank you can say you have approximately 4L left (or just under). Do the math if you're bike is roughly 4.0L/100km, then in theory you should get around 70km+ (although the math would state 100km) until empty (to give a rough idea, results will vary). In reality I would say its more like the above stated and around 50kms for reserve

the new model lists as a 12.4 litre tank with 2 litre reserve the 07 listed as a 13 litre tank from memory so very similar, so 10 litres usable at my 180kms is 5.5litres per 100km and would give you 36kms on reserve to dead empty or if Rogwick's 4 litres per 100km is closer you would get 250km and 50km on reserve to dead empty.

really depends how you ride it, i'm a larger build and rode it hard so it chewed fuel compared to my wife who was learning on it. If you fill the tank and work out your km to the litre it should all be pretty easy from there

don't forget to turn the tap back to ON after refuelling when you have used the reserve otherwise the next time you run out it might be a long walk.

i hit reserve at 260 on mine.. i don't know how far the reserve goes for but i have ridden it 30 kms before filling up and it still had bit more fuel in it.

got a staintune muffler, and i think my jets are a bit too big for them, might be out of tune but the mechanic says it's ok. runs a bit rich, but it runs perfect, no overfueling or anything so i let it be.

i think it takes a bit more fuel but i belive it's because of the riding position and "naked" style of the bike. in comparison the gpx hits reserve at 380, but i think the gpx has a few liters more fuel.
