hey guys just wondering what the average waiting time is on the Ninja 250 at the moment?
just a bit of background, I'm waiting on one at the moment & I called the dealer last week (2 weeks after I signed the papers) to see how things were going and I was told to "Just be patient", I'm happy to wait but I would like to have some idea how long I have to "Just be patient" for, any idea would be nice the dealer doesn't seem to be very helpful![]()

Our Father, Who art at Phillip Island, Hallowed be thy name
Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done
In the backroads as it is on the freeway
Give us this day our high-octane premium fuel
And forgive us our lanesplitting
As we forgive the four wheel drives, the volvos and the taxis
And lead us not into gravel corners
But deliver us from hand-held radars
For thine is thy leather, thy denim, thy Gore-Tex and thy Kevlar

Should have just purchased a second handie and save yourself some grieve
Hope you don't have to wait to long though

Iv been waiting on a green one for a couple weeks... Apparently it might be available to be collected this coming weekend.
If not, I can choose to collect it from the next shipment - about a month away...
I really dont understand why people buy brand new 250's. You can pick up a 1 or 2 year old 250 ninja (well there not really ninjas but you know what I mean) for $4500. Save yourself a few grand on a bike that after 2 months you will think is too slow and will only keep for a year.

You dont have to understand why I purchased a new one...
I earn good money and I like buying new things.
For the extra $1 - $2k that it has cost me, I get warranty, new tyres & brakes and have the assurance of knowing that any previous owner hasn't pretended they are Rossi on the thing. It has 0km's...
I dont mind if I lose 10 - 20 cents a kilometre when I am clocking up the first 10,000 km's on the thing.
I expect to lose a bit of money over the first year and I am fine with that..... Im certainly not worried about losing a couple grand over the course of a year or 2.

Plus running in a 250 is simply painful, especially if you do it by the book. I'd almost pay extra to have somebody else do it for me.
In life you only get one lap, might as well make it a good one.
Buy my stuff, everything now half price - http://www.perthstreetbikes.com/foru...woofer-144818/

Dont get me wrong - what you are saying definitely has some merit...
Im not on a uni student budget (no offence to Uni students at all), buying a new bike isnt going to stop me from eating decent food or paying my bills for a month - I am not doing it for cheaper commute - I am doing it for fun... I have spent (read: wasted) enough on reasonably fast cars over the last few years to realise that I am going to lose a little bit on any motor vehicle. That isnt going to stop me buying a nice car or bike in future. I can tell you now, that buying a new 250 certainly isnt going to hold me back from buying a nice 600 or thousand when I am experienced enough...!
I dont think your wrong and I dont think I am wrong - there is no "one size fits all" approach. Its all part of the owning a motorbike experience for me. It might work out well, it might not. Whatever happens, happens. Ill have formed my own opinion over the next few months on whether I was happy with my decision or not, or whether buying new or used is best moving forward - I am not splitting hairs over it. If I loose a couple grand in the process, so be it... It doesnt bother me too much.
Appreciate your advice tho! See you all on the road shortly I hope...
Sweet! Got the Call yesterday arvo, so I can pick my bike up Tommorow or Friday... (Most Probably Saturday because of work) so from go to wo it will be ~28 days (Zombie Bike O.o ) So yay for Me![]()

Hoping I get my call tomorrow, to tell me that I too can collect on the weekend!
If some people didn't buy new bikes, then there would be no second hand bikes for those who are thriftier purchasers.
Those second hand bikes don't grow on trees.
Well done on the new purchase...nothing like being the first person to own something. See you out on the road.![]()

Come buy mine. I've put the cash into getting her perfect for someone to take her over.
Nothing to spend. Depending how much you ride her you shouldn't have to do anything to her, other than service (has just had one), for a year.
