Being a mechanic I just like to buy things people have given up on, but what i would love (and probably cant afford) is a bike from my youth.
Yamaha IT465J or IT490
Fond memories of a brutal enduro![]()
Intelligence and education are three sides of the same coin.
Ahh yes the mighty IT490 .... not a bike for the faint hearted .... nor the weak right legged when you stalled it hot
Seem to be downsizing myself re other ppls 'basket cases' went from 900 to now a 95 ZX6 to even an old 83 VT250!!(which suprisingly now runs very well after untold years sitting and many hours sorting fuel sytem!?)
ahem yeah next bike will be the same make and capacity - Just nekkid this time![]()
When life throws you a few curves
GET YOUR KNEE DOWN!!
Just want the next bike to give me options, enough power to let me grow into it, better handling capacity than I have the ability to ride, comfortable enough to do the odd longer run, and good looking enough to make me buy it in the first place.
I have a short list of maybe 5 bikes, all 600-675cc, hopefully somewhere in there we'll find the right one.
Next bike.... Too many options...
999, 999S, 848, 1098, 1098S, 312R, 312R 1078, Turb's Nero, shadow 78's F4
I know, believe me. It's started. It's wierd saying you'll comprimise by getting a 999 right![]()
FWIW, I've just gone from the CBR250 to an R6, and I'm loving it. You'd swear the R6 weighs at most about half a kilo more than the CBR (once it's moving...).
Insert witty comment here
RR 157, HRR 157
What you guys reckon about the Benellis ? either that or a gsxr 1000![]()
Inside backwards, outside forwards, thats how i role.

Our Father, Who art at Phillip Island, Hallowed be thy name
Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done
In the backroads as it is on the freeway
Give us this day our high-octane premium fuel
And forgive us our lanesplitting
As we forgive the four wheel drives, the volvos and the taxis
And lead us not into gravel corners
But deliver us from hand-held radars
For thine is thy leather, thy denim, thy Gore-Tex and thy Kevlar
