oh and so this is where your money goes!

For those wondering whether or not to buy a ticket, be inspired by the amazing difference MAD has made to those who need it.

Even if you don't win, wouldn't you like to know that your $20 has gone to something like this:

Since 2005 M.A.D. donations have directly contributed to the following purchases:
    • Wireless Internet facilities + negotiated with providers for ongoing services
    • Assist in the design and construction of adjustable support frames for televisions, to allow patients with restricted motion to comfortably view TV, especially those laying prone on their backs.
    • Therastride – a body-weight supporting treadmill that can assist in Locomotor training
    • Cough assist machines – helping patients with an ineffective ability to cough, a cause of chest infections in spinal patients
    • Funds to build a computer room at Shenton Park, allowing patients to keep in touch with the outside world, during what could be a long stay on the ward, away from family and friends
    • Purchase of a specimen refrigerator to assist in work in finding a cure for spinal injury, donated to Reds Spinal Research Laboratory at the University of Western Australia
    • Equipment for the visitor’s room at Shenton Park, including furniture, refrigerator and television
    • E-knee bionic knee joint that can be operated by remote control, to assist in walking during rehabilitation
    • Dining room equipment to improve the facilities available for patients, families and staff
    • Spriometer – medical apparatus to measure the intake and expiration of air from the lungs
    • Family education room – friends and family play an integral part in a patients rehabilitation, especially when they leave the ward and the education room helps teach the vital information needed to help support the patient in their independence when they return home
    • Adjustable beds – the fear of falling out of bed can be a huge issue for spinal patients. These special beds can be adjusted to sit at a more comfortable height

Well put Lolly, buy up folks every ticket is another $20 to Shents.
Gutsy question. You're a shark. Sharks are winners, and they don't look back because they have no necks. Necks are for sheep.

yes, 'there but for the grace of god go I' and all that.... so much we take for granted...

I also think it is incredible (but not suprising) that there is a group of lads and ladies out there in PSB land who have given so much of their time and energy to make such a difference. And all we 'other' folk have to do is contribute by buying a ticket - that may also land us a bike and other cool prizes!

    5000.

Do we have any of these at the centre? I'm sure I saw Jeff with a fist-full a few days ago.

That number on the webshop isn't quite correct. According to my rough calculations we have sold approx 2900 tickets, meaning we still have 2100 or so left (there are 5000 tickets total).

We will have to stop selling tickets online in the next day or 2, so we can make sure they are sent out to everybody in time.
In life you only get one lap, might as well make it a good one.

If anyone wants to brave the crappy weather I'm heading to the WSR meet point tonight with a few ticket books if anybody wants tickets.
