Angry Any lawyers with advice? Tenancy / Homeswest problem.

The skinny:

I've got an investment property. The flat next to it is owned by Homeswest.
So, there is scum living in it.

The scum, since day 1, fight, argue, make noise and are general fucktards. They have had the police called on them several times to no avail.

Now my tenant has given notice because they can't deal with it any more. They moved their bed into the lounge because the bedroom was on the common wall. Didn't help. So, they're off.

Is there any recourse for Homeswest? Are we able to sue them for costs on locating new tenants or for the tenancy being cut short? This problem is sure to be ongoing while the pieces of shit are dwelling next door and nothing is done about it.

What can be done?

Burn the offending property, current "tenant's" are re-located, see what the next tenants are like.

Still no good? rinse and repeat.

This is not meant as an offensive post, but are they trailer trash or indigenoids?

You are fighting a losing battle on this one. While they are paying their rent, you'll find that they will be hard to get rid of.

I think, apart from going to the relevant department, my guess is housing and infrastructure, and complain, there won`t be much you can do about it.

I don't think that you will have much recourse to Homeswest in legal terms. However you should go and talk to them about it. The more complaints they receive, the better they are able to deal with any problems.

There is a document that is a few years old that might help:
http://www.shelterwa.org.au/publicat...ndproj/gnp.pdf

I would think your best bet is to have a chat with the people at DOCEP.

Good luck!

Put your grievance in writing to the Director General of the Department for Housing and Works and see what sort of response you get.

Couple big fellas in balaclavas with base ball bats late one night might be able to encourage them to move house.

PLant drugs and call the farce.

Ring the hotline and tell them your neighbors yell "ali akubra or sumfink" lots and are stocking up on fertiliser.
