def go with qbe.. your policy statement will say lifetime guarentee on repairs
they will still retain veto power on who repairs it though
Fair enough.. guess it depends who you talk to. Both times I called I spoke to very polite people seeming keen to help.
QBE beat any quote but does that include upping the agreed value? The guy I spoke to at QBE said they wouldn't insure it for anything above $2K. Also out of all companies QBE guy was actually the worst I spoke with and wasn't very interested in speaking to me at all.
Maybe I got a dud.
I am amazed that RAC are even quoting for bikes now. Back a few years ago I got a polite "go away, we don't insure bikes" from them. My best results were always with WQBE, or Western Underwriters as they were when I first insured a bike.
If Cam only had 3rd party insurance, would WQBE have still told the RAC to eat a dick on his behalf ?
Or is that service only included in a fully comp policy?
Respect is earned, not enforced.
QBE offer "comprehensive" like policy options on the 3rd party car insurance (and I'll assume the same for bikes, I can't remember for my last bike policy) if:
- Other party is at fault
- Other party is uninsured
- You can identify the other driver (Name, licence & address)
- Only $6000 damage covered
Seems a pretty good option for the cheaper bikes, but doesn't provide cover for your bike if you mess up.

I have been with RAC insurance for years, and have the usual maximum no claim blah blah blah protected no claim bonus. Was even told I could have 2 AT FAULT accidents in a one year period, WITH NO PENALTY.
In January I had 2 vehicles insured with RAC and my little Nissan Micra ended up being a write off. Micra's and Kangaroos do not mix.
Despite maximum no claim protected blah blah blah, my Premiums may not have gone up, but my excess has gone up threefold.
They should be able to do better.
Intelligence and education are three sides of the same coin.
WAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH
You had an accident, and wrote off a car. Your insurance should go up.
