Anyone heard of Joe Cross "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead"?

While on way to work this morning, heard on 94.5 some Aussie guy name Joe Cross went to US for 60 days and filmed a documentary about a Vegan/Fast Juice thing... and sort of did a Jaime Oliver thing about learning why fat Americans are fat and teaching them the benefits of a Juice diet... or an opposite of Supersize Me.

Anyone seen this documentary? (or is it just a glorified infomercial? )

Would have thought a juice only/supplemented diet would be just a fad diet (water loss and weight come back once eating normal) or has anyone tried such diet? did a quick google and seeing lots of good results, but yet skeptical...

He was doing the rounds on the daytime tv shows etc.
He owns the juice company that he was using to supposedly lose the weight with.
Seemed a load of crap to me, and he was just self promoting his wares.

I think the lemon detox diet has merit. Once you are done with that, make sure you only cook food in snake oil....

    Twinkie diet all the way.

Eat fewer calories than you burn and you'll lose weight. Everything else is just a distraction.

We were selling the DVD in the F&V section at Woolies.
Juice only diet sounds a little too close to lemon detox to me (recently voted the worst/most dangerous fad diet by a 'panel of experts' in the news)

I think it can be done successfully with the right additives (and not just juices, have to have some solids I think). But like anything designed to cut weight fast, it's extremely likely that it will come back just as fast.
