eBay? They seem to go for $300-400 on there. eg this one for $360 (Sydney seller - Free 512MB + 12 Mths Warranty).

I am on a plan with Vodafone. Not a contract, just a plan.
Whenever i want a new phone i call them up and ask them the best price they will do.
While i am on the phone i check for prices on ebay and ask them to match it. They always do.
The warrenty with a phone company makes it easier to get my phone fixed should their be a problem and they don't try putting me on a contract.

Win win for what i want.

Edit - oops, didn't read the opening post very well did i?

    thanks for that info

the phone is not for myself (its a present for my sister) so its just easier if i buy one outright. But i am looking to change my current phone aswell (fuck off 3 because they suck) and its good to know vodafone will match prices
