Can i block this site from the kid's desktop?

Can i block this site from the kid's desktop?

Better man, poke out their eyes.
You can, but being a kid they'd probably get around it
Launch IE, go to Internet options>content>content advisor>enable
And put in www.youtube.com and click never...
Assuming he uses IE.
Probably other ways to do it too... But I haven't used Windows in a while and am a little rusty on geeking it up.
How old is the kid?
Between the ages of 10 and 18, he's better than you at this game.
He'll get around it.
Why do you want to ban youtube, its not that bad of a site?
ban it = more fun to find ways of accessing it
Keep it unbanned = kid doesnt have a new mission to crack and hopefully will get bored with it

How about when he clicks on a youtube link, you say "no." and close the browser? You are there, watching, right?
Captain Starfish is currently pimping:
Need your home theatre installed? MS Tech
Looking for awesome walls in your house? Custom Walls
Like scuba diving? UWA Underwater Club
ie's internet filter will do virtually nothing for you, so many ways around it.
if you want to filter that shit out you'll want some better quality filtering software that whitelists instead of blacklists(have i used the correct terms?). even then theres heaps of ways around that shit and you'll be forever chasing him. personally i reckon youtube is the least of your worries, never really seen anything horrendous on it.
PSB - It doesn't matter how right you are. If you aren't in with the crowd who thinks they are the in crowd because they post a lot, then you are wrong.
Take the computer away. He won't be going on youtube then...
^^ lol.
Whats the point. My parents didn't take any of these things away from me and i'm still a pretty sane individual. why take it away?
Bandwidth?

I'm sick of the kids sitting on the site downloading the same shite over and over again (after being told not to)and watching the data limit being exceeded. The g/f put some kind of a block on it but it blocked a lot of other sites aswell and apparently meant the teenage daughter couldn't do her homework *pfft yeah right*, and for her trouble g/f received a serve of the most foul-mouthed abuse i've ever heard. But anyroad, thanks for the advice, but sounds like it can't be done. I'd chuck the thing in the road but it might hit one of you guys.
oh oh oh
Give them their own login
Use administrator to alter hosts file pointing youtube to localhost
Revoke write permissions on the hosts file for their own login
Profit!
(unless they get the IP address heh)
Should be enough to block it for the time being, and someone will correct me if this wont work at all
"hey kids, here is the deal. You now pay for the Internet from your own pocket money."
Or
computer is banned for being dissovidient and rude little shits who I can't hit. Need it to do work? Go to the library or stay at school.
seariosly, fuck it up for them and hold them accountable for everything. Kids play dumb 9 times out of 10 and plan ways to fark with you on this sort of stuff. If you ban you tube they will find break then myspace then redtube
Talk about off topic, it is trivial to block a boneheaded user from a specific site, but I guess its far easier to whinge about parenting
(blocking falls down if the user gets a clue)

just dont block redtube or you'll defeat the whole purpose of the interweb.
