    Cheap stuff from China

Motorbike Accessories & Parts Directory of Motorbike Accessories & Parts Products from China Wholesalers, Manufacturers, Suppliers and Exporters

There's a lot of other good stuff on that site. A mate bought an iPhone look-alike for $80, and it works like a gem. Only use Assurance Plus sellers.

Agreed, but it's still impressive. Android runs pretty slickly on it.

I just came back from China and was amazed at the difference from when I was there 4 years ago. These are the people we need to be dealing with. One guy, who was about 28 told me about how he remembered when "China was poor" and nobody he knew had a car, now everyone he knows has a car. The was a street in which there were eight specialized electron microscopes; we only have two in Australia. I saw and electron microscope worth about a million dollars in a stairwell about to be thrown out because they were getting three new ones to replace it.

The company I work for get circuit boards made locally, and the supplier told us they may subcontract them to china. I voiced my concerns about quality and was told the Chinese used equipment that exceeded what could be produced locally. Like it or not, facts stand by themselves.

Good reason to stay on their good side, right? This is what I've been working towards anyway.

I was a little worried about the, ominous sounding question, "Can we buy land in Australia" though.

Yeah, I use alibaba, while it is cheap, they use the slowest couriers known to man, EMS. With their free service taking 30-40 days. I usually pay for the express service which is 7-10 days and usually costs more than the item, but that's about standard these days.
I used to have a nice sig offering to shadow ppl. Now I have no sig...

I've played with some of the cheap chinese knock-off phones. It's not the circuitry that make them decent (that's all fairly solid), but the utterly miserable operating environment is a problem.

Dumping Android on everything will go a long way to solving that, but they're still slightly dodgy at the best of times.

A lot of decent cheap shit comes from China, but their knock-off iPhones (the ones I've laid my hands on at least) are all quite shite. As with the cheap chinese Android tablets and other dooverlackys people get needless boners for when they have incredibly low standards.

Where I worked before we used to buy Chinese knock offs of OEM parts for mining equipment...

Incredibly cheap, but it was a case of order 5 and end up throwing 3 away as they were out of spec...

That's the one my mate bought. I had a play with it yesterday, and was pretty impressed, for the price. Yes, it feels cheap - but it was a lot faster than my iPhone 4. He's had it for a few months, and it hasn't missed a beat.

Screen flips and orientation changes, changing from normal to scientific calculator, and opening apps. Stuff like that.
