Next week is as the title reads "Chiropractic Care Week", from the 21st to the 25th of May. During the week those of us in the chiropractic industry try to find people in need of care that otherwise would never of sought assistance. Myself being a chiropractor I am interested to know your views on health.

I thought this would be an excellent place to ask the questions

What does health mean to you?

How do you know when your healthy?

Health? The ability to do all the things I enjoy doing without pain, to my greatest current physical/mental capabilities.

How do I know? When I improve in the things I do, get stronger, and feel 100% doing it.

    fair enough snowman95

Personally I find it really hard to know just how healthy I am as well, even though Ive studied health all my life. Even when I'm in pain I can convince myself I'll be alright after a bit of rest. Once the pain goes I find it hard to tell how well I'm functioning. I had a tumble last year during round 3 of the MCRC rounds last year and was really sore after landing hard, and as usual went to my chiropractor to help get myself right again. After a couple of weeks of regular treatment I was back out to my regular relaxed schedule, but unknown to me I was still not 100%

About 6 months later I started experiencing more and more low back pain, and increasing fatigue (the fatigue was harder to notice). When I started care with a new chiropractor I went through the first thorough physical exam I had done in over 5 years and discovered I was weak as a pussy cat in heaps of different areas. This even though I regularly pumped the guns at the gym. When I got my x-rays back they showed that the alignment of my spine had deteriorated substancially from the previous set 12 months before. This even though I was feeling OK. Definitely hit home to me after this just how quickly my health can deteriorate without myself being aware of it.

Now I seem to come across patients day in day out that have had similar experiences
