computer issue-"this document has moved.,... redirecting"

guys.. I quite often have been getting this mesage recently when i do a search:
    "this document has moved.,... redirecting"
and it directs me to some obscure sites, but when i re-do the search it lets me go to my destination.

If you've got a legitimate version of windows, you can download and install microsoft security essentials, IMO it's by far the best anti-virus program around. If you don't have legit windows, Avast Anti-Virus should suffice.

I assume you're using Internet Explorer - I'd recommend getting Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome - Both of which are far better browsers.

Totally serious. It's lightweight (doesn't take up lots of system resources), there's no compatibility problems at all (as it's a Microsoft product), it's always updated and it's dead simple to use.

Only downside is that you have to be using a legitimate version of windows as you need to install Windows Genuine Advantage (<2 seconds, three clicks) to authenticate with Microsoft and install it.

I think merctom doesn't trust Microsoft's virus catching ability rather than the convenience of the program. I'm inclined to agree, I use Avast Antivirus and Comodo Internet Security, both free.

Alpha, it sounds like you have malware of some sort. What operating system, web browser and security software do you use? Also do you have any toolbars (like Google, Yahoo or something else) in your browser. If you don't have any security software I recommend the 2 that I mentioned above.

Question Document has moved, redirecting search hits again!!!!!!

Since I managed to get rid of a virus scam on my computer yesterday,(called SMART SECURITY), I also have been gettingthis annoying "document has moved, redirecting search" thing going on when I tried to go into a couple of search engines such as dogpile and ask.com and just plan google.

Now ,yesterday, in order to get rid of the other phony thing,I downloaded and ran Malware bytes, adn it said then I ws virus free.I also have avast running , and firewall working .And had them both at the time SMART SECURITY hit.....why should this be??? And Avast also said I was virus free,SMart Security makes up phony virus, trojan, spam bot alerts to scare you. You can read about them online.

But I ran the Malwarebyte again today , still says I am virus free and yet I still have this redirecting to other pages, including one lovely one I didn't know existed, called"Porn Tube". And yes, it looks like something else but a lot more naked!

I do have legitimate windows 7,and want to know, what should I do?
If I have Avast and someone reccomended the other free microsoft anti virus,do I have to uninstall Avast? And I do recall putting in comodo firewall, and it shows I ahve my firewall working fine, but it doesn't show that it is comodo.
so, before I toss this out the window one night in sheer frustration, any ideas??!
    thanks

Run Hijackthis and see what startup programs that you are not familiar with.
Save the log or copy and paste it into this site which checks the log.

MalwareBytes Anti-Malware doesn't check for viruses. Interesting that MBAM and Avast would both say that you're clean, though.

Are both products up to date? I suggest that you update them both, and then do FULL scans in SAFE MODE.

Edit: you may have been rootkitted, in which case it's time to reinstall everything.

I had this problem too and after lots of mucking around I found out it was a problem in my router not computer. Something had caused my DNS to change from the default bigpond one. Once I changed that back it to the default one it was all sorted.

Hope that helps - drove me insane trying to sort it out!
