I need to convert some video (currently in mov or mp4 format) to flash, I've had a bit of a google and this popped up.
This is on an Apple too.
Any suggestions?

If you have the full version of Adobe Creative Suite (latest one or two) then you could use the Adobe Flash Video Encoder...

I've got access to CS4 Master Suite. If it's only a couple, I can do it.
Also, you could upload to youtube and then d/l it from them again...

Putting a fresh install of Windows on the internet is like giving a nymphomaniac a job at an STD clinic and then slipping viagra into their coffee. It may seem like a good idea at the time, but trust me, it isn't.R class test passed - Eligible to shadow R-E 26/05/13, R 26/05/14

Far as I know FLV media player converts most formats (a few other free apps do as well, and play vids far more reliably than the Windows offering. Some do on the fly decoding/encoding for Xbox etc as well when set up as a media server. Have search on Cnet...
...ahh, Mac sorry (sigh, the media pro dream, if you can afford to pay big for EVERY app...)
I used to use Riva FLV converter and it worked well. I haven't used it for about a year though but I presume it works as well now as it used to. It is also very user friendly and free to download.

Agreed with Scutters FLV media player should be able to convert them or failing that VLC media player. Im not sure how great the quality of the output is though.
Hi Desmo, a web based converter like Zamzar Zamzar - Free online file conversion will convert it to flv and a whole lot more. It's free and platform independent.

Zamzar is FREAKEN great - everyone should bookmark it (saved my skin a few times as a uni student (lecturers can be pedantic about file formats)). The only thing is if he's doing vids Zamzar relies entirely on uploading and then downloading (and also has a 100mb upload limit).
I can't help terribly with Macs sorry Desmo but if you have access to a PC (or bootcamp) I HIGHLY recommend FormatFactory it's like if Zamzar made a freeware program. It supports SO many format conversions (movies, pictures, audio, CD/ISO), is free and is ENTIRELY user friendly (drag/drop, choose format, click start).

Desmogod. I have used/use a multitude of programs on my macs for this purpose (I do final cut pro editing for broadcast) but recently stumbled across a mob called Pavtube. Downloaded their free trial & nearly fell over at how damn good their stuff works so spent me $$$ (a mere $30 or so) and bought their products. Go have a look, the video convertor does pretty much every format back & force you can think of.
