Desktop has died - good old storm damage I think.

    Hi All,

Here is the scenario, it looks like our house had a surge during the storm. The other half got home and the sprinkles had come on and couldn't be turned off without disconnecting power, roll door is stuffed and the desktop machine looks in trouble as well.

I have a surge protector board which my desktop plugs into and my router. The router side of the board is blown, if I plug the router into the wall it picks up ADSL no worries. The computer on the other hand is completely dead.

Is there anyway to check to see if its just the PSU? I have the side off and there isn't any burnt smell. The computer was shutdown when the hit occurred.

Also, is there a fuse or breaker to reset?

    Thanks

Or you could ask someone with many a spare PSU to loan you one or to test the system for you. Oh hai! PM me if you need a hand with this, happy to help.
