OK, anyone play it? (EVE Online - a massive multiplayer online roleplaying space game - MMORPG) I haven't played in a while, because well... the game works a lot better if you have enough players grouped up to co-operate.

Rather than try to collect/group with a bunch of randoms, figured if anyone here plays, it would be a start?

This game is for gays that love it in the butt. The gay butt.

It's way too much like work. If you hate spaceships but love excel spreadsheets (and gay sex) this is the game for you.

I tried to get into it, but then when I got my fucking dick shot off by space pirates because I bought ammo, figured it had been given to me but forgot to sign some virtual delivery docket and then manually move every fucking shell into my cargo hold so that I could manually load it into my manually depressing weaponry, I decided to give it the fuck up.

But, ya know... if that sounds like your thing, go hog wild

Sorry thro, played it for a bit, then realised there is no such thing as an enjoyable MMO(at least for me), despite all the claims of "no grind" "different to all other MMO's" etc used to sit in front of a machine for 12 hours a day as a job, it's not something I want to repeat as a past time.
I'm all about instant gratification when it comes to games.

i'm just about to suspend my account. Fell in love with it (it's practically Elite after all

), played it for a while, now i'm kind of bored with it. i'm not terribly interested in the social aspects of the game ("you're building a Raven as a passive tank? *hurr hurr* LOL!"), and the grind is vicious unless you're on it all the time.

What're you flying?

It's gay. Spaceships flown by excel spreadsheets, as Cam said. Too much time required to get anywhere, and it can be taken away from you in the blink of an eye. This game sucks, coz it's too "real life" with its risk vs. rewards. Graphically, it's not bad, but as far as MMO's go, you're never going to be as good or as strong as those who've been playing longer. You CANNOT catch up.

EDIT: to satisfy MikeC, Ummm, I was flying Armageddons, Abaddon's and Apocalypses on my Amarr combat main and I think I was mining with a Covetor? on my miner alt (Caldari). I did have a Maller that could take out battleship rats in 0.0. Just for shits and giggles. /end eve-speak

Its more involved than clicking on shit and having it die after X number of clicks.

Up to that point I was kinda getting into it, then it punished me for assuming that after I paid for something, it would be given to me

I did the same thing as I often do with MMO's - I played the free trial, enjoyed it, then stopped playing when the trial ran out and I never paid.

It was fun, and I LOVED the graphics, but I hated travelling (ooh I have to fly 3 systems away? guess ill put autopilot on and make myself some dinner)

Played a trial. Loved the sound as your travelling through hyperspace (awesome with 5.1 and a big bass), then had to travel through about a dozen hyperspace hole things to pick up some cargo and all the way back again.
Dont like the sound as your travelling through hyperspace.

Bought Age of Conan. Played 1st month. Sitting there unused.
Reinstalled Oblivion on laptop with tessmage mods (ta-tas and new races) and all offical mods (piratecough).
Stopped playing after character creation screen.
Jumped back on PSB.

Its a grind where as it levels you up offline.

I had a raven or something a rather, a t2 Battle Cruiser.

and i was doing L2's with it.

Its a fun game if you play it with friends.

but playing it solo, can make space a very very vast and lonesome place to be.
