Shmoo, I hope you're right, and they are just talking crap.

In my entire life, the one and only person I have personally known who killed animals through poison and torture (a kid I knew in high school), eventually ended up in prison for murder. He probably would have become a serial killer but fortunately the cops caught him after his first brutal murder. Pity the system doesn't pick this problem up earlier when they display their tendencies on animals.
you would be amazed at how many are out there Spock, my wife has 3 pet cats i don't categorise myself as a cat lover by any stretch of the imagination but i respect others feelings towards them and would never deliberately cause suffering to a living creature, the times i have had to remove one from the ecosystem it has been done as efficiently as possible, on a feral cat cull we would quite often find cats that had been shot previously and it was infuriating, who knows how long they had been suffering from those wounds.

Before we had access to 24 hour vet emergency care down here i would quite regularly get a call from the ranger who lives around the corner to finish off the victim of a botched poisoning or vehicle impact if it couldn't be identified, it's extremely difficult to prove who did it otherwise the courts would be full to bursting
Do you remember the good old days before the internet?

when arguments were only entered into by the physically or intellectually able.

My grandmother would buy "mothballs" (Napthalene) and push them into her front lawn and garden, which she swore would keep the cats away from her gardens. Was not a kill option but a deterrent.

Another method would be to buy some berroca and lace them into some cat food, when the cat is foaming at the mouth, call the ranger who will act quickly as they will think it has rabies and shoot it. Also works for barking neighbourhood dogs while neighbours are out.

    P.S. Part 2, Its a joke Joyce.

    Citronella?
Cats hate citrus so maybe spraying the cat with a squirty bottle of lemon or something cirtus-y might deter it?
My cat always pulls faces and runs off if we try and make her smell lemon

Just a side note, Lilies (the flower) pollen is poisonous to cats as well.
Hi- I'm Emma! (aka Twigs, Twiglett, whatever you come up with at the time)

Get some catnip plants from bunnings, sit back and be entertained by the high as a kite kitty
