    Front Doors

    Hi everyone,

On Monday night, our front door was damaged and we need a new one.

Does anybody out there sell front doors or have any contacts?

    Cheers,
    MadDocker.

    Solid front doors?

Bunnings do them cheap, but you need to paint, fit and put lock on yourself.
Doors Plus / Doors and More both will fit, paint/stain, and put locks on for you.

    Yeah solid front door.

I can paint and fit locks no problems. How hard are they to hang?

    very easy.

you need a planer normally, as the doors are a few mm bigger to allow for discrepencies. then just a wood chisel (or router) to notch out for the hinge depth, and screw it on.

    quite simple.

also help if you have another pair of hands to hold the door whilst you line up the hinges with the wall

a good tip i used was to have a couple of those rubber wedge shaped door stops handy. You can use them to support the door at the correct height, saving you from having to try and hold it perfectly in line.

You can also use them between the door and the frame near the hinges to "tweak" the hinges if it doesn't hang quite right.
