    graphic display problems

Hi guys, need little bit help in here
I just re-format my laptop and when I play a video file,
The graphic/film picture in the screen is not smooth as should be or like before I re-format my laptop. (Feel like am back to the past ).

What I hear from some friends, they said I need to update my graphic card driver to the latest one.
So, I follow they suggestions by installing the new software from ATI website, however when I try to play video file again, the display it is still not change, still bloody awful.

Therefore, I hope someone in here can help me to solve this problem.
Can anyone tell me what I should do to improve or fix my laptop display problem?

For your information my laptop is TOSHIBA A200 and the graphic card is ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 and I using Windows Vista.

Thanks in advance for the help

Have you got the correct codecs? Depending, sometimes the video will play jumpy, sometimes it will just play audio with no video, and sometimes it won't play at all if you don't have correct codecs.

install VLC , change the setting shown here: Having trouble playing 1080p video via VLC?

It's very unlikely to be a graphics driver problem, more likely codecs or settings.
In life you only get one lap, might as well make it a good one.

Or you're using the default M$ drivers instead of the official ATI ones.
Remember half the cagers out there are below average drivers...

As barfridge said, install VLC and use that to play your videos. Then you won't have to worry about codecs.

Alternatively, download and install the klite codec package.

Comes with every codec you'll ever need, plus media player classic which is kinda like VLC in that it will play anything.

Or if you 'must' check, download g-spot and use it to check that you have the codecs installed.
