Graphics people - help me identify a font, and save Barfrage

As with most sports clubs that have committees who come and go, the dive club I'm part of has managed to lose our fair share of artwork over the years.

About to do a new batch and I'm also trying to collect and create a repository of source info for logos, fonts etc - but can't find a lot of it.

In particular - does anyone recognise the font in white in this picture? If it looks familiar, please let me know.



Coz if I can't find the right one, you know what I'm going to do?

I'm gonna re-style the whole club to use comic sans

Can I ask: did you recognised it straight off (or close to it) coz you've worked with it before recently, or do you have a nice search technique which you'd like to share?

Is there small serif's on there as well? just a bit hard to see based on the image. Otherwise it could also be Serpentine Medium Oblique

Not the best source image, I know (sorry). But it's sans serif.

I play around with photoshop sometimes and use bold fonts, it looked familiar...usually i google " bold fonts" and it brings up shitloads to choose from....

it does look like there are serifs on there and Serpentine is a better fit if you want an exact match.
Compare the end caps on the cap 'C' - they aren't vertical.

Thanks Tim & Rhino - and I admit it's hard to make out on that crappy photo of an old, skanky shirt. The ends on the C aren't vertical, true, but promise ya those seriphs on Serpentine are not present.

I believe the font was chosen to make it easier for screening - and fiddly little serifs are a PITA.

I've now cut the new vinyl using this "club font" to replace the faded (painted) lettering on the boat and have to say just how glad I was for the lack of serifs during the weeding process. Now all I have to do is blank out the old lettering on the boat, clean up the somewhat chalky paint surface etc so the vinyl has a vague chance of sticking down
