HDD Digital Video Cameras

nah, had a Sanyo Xacti a few years ago and hated it.
just don't like the shape, menus, etc.

RRP is $1899, but i'm sure i could get it cheaper shopping around.

That is what we use at work to film the blasts. They are great cameras and pretty hardy too. Never had any probs with em.

We use the HDRCX7K solid state as our 2nd/3rd unit camera for the TV Show, for the amount of screen time we use the footage for it does a really good job.

I still dont trust HDD cameras, but then most of my recording has an element of high vibration risk to worry about.

i looked at them, but since you'd only get 1hr of footage on a 8gig memory stick, versus about 8hrs on the 40gig hdd... i don't need the security of flash, i'm not sticking it on a bike and tearing around a track! i'd rather have the extra recording time.
