Help....My best mate always helps everyone else and now he needs help himself!

Hi, as the subject suggests my best mate who has always helped everyone around him(nothing ever too hard) is now in a real time of need and I'm asking for your help please.
2 weeks before Christmas Tony was admitted into hospital and then diagnosed with Pancriatic cancer. At this time his liver was blocked and had shut down. There are also 5 leasions on/in his liver.
They opporated to fit a stent, at the same time as doing a biopsy. All bad news, terminal etc.
Local hospitals suggested a couple of rounds of kemo, but indicated it may just give him a few more months and would make him very crook. Tony was my groomsman at my wedding,a real Mr fix it-- fixed my mopeds, cars, bikes you name it and has never asked for a thing. My family and His wife and daughter Sonya and Ahlia are all very close as I have known him for 27 years (not many friends stick by you that long)!
To cut a long story short after intense research there is hope through a treatment in Germany. Tony isn't working, Sonya can't work and they need to raise $25 000 for the treatment. Friends of ours in Melborne have started a charity. This tells a bit of his story.I understand things are tight at the moment but ask you to have a look at the link below and if you can find a couple of dollars it all helps. The sooner Tony gets to Germany the more chance he has. I have been to Sepang with the PSBer's the last few years,Riden with Tbones since he had his KR 250 and was a motorcycle instructor for years and although I don't post regularly have been a member for several years.I will log on every night when possible as I can't access from work.
    The link is www.mycause.com.au/TonysAngels
Thankyou for your early response and compassion.
    Regards
    Rod

This sounds eerily similar to what happened to my mum

She passed away a year ago next week

I will give what I can and add my wishes for luck for him and his family

    Hi Rod.
You are a good mate, and I call you a friend of mine (so there ).
People, although Rod doesn't hang out with us much I have ridden with him many times over the years and he's one of the good guys.
I have added some cash to Tony's fund.
I hope he can get the best care available and come out the other end with a clean bill of health.
All the best to Tony and his family during this difficult time.

Thankyou all for well wishes and donations. It's very hard for Tony to understand people that haven't even met him are prepared to help him. Just thanks!

Posting a comment now, subscribing to this thread (so I don't forget). I should get paid tonight so perhaps drop some funds soon if not next week after next pay. Best of luck with the treatment and fund raising.

Hey Rod, will chip in what I can after 15th. So sorry to hear about your good mate, like you said, friends like that are few and far between.
We are small and exposed, and probably moving too fast for our own good, but that's no reason not to enjoy every minute of the ride.

Yes I do, the treatment Tony Will be going for thanks to so many people (over 1/4 of the way there) is called Hyperthermia.
They heat the body up to 42.5 degrees andthis makes the cancer cells expand and ome pop the cells absorb more at this time so they hit them with a much lower but more effective dose of kemo. Generally cancer cells hide and this treatment makes that very difficult for them to do that.
Patients don't get as harsh side effects and success rate rises drasticaly.
