I use a Mac at work, and an old one at home, and on them you can key Apple (whatever that key is either side of spacebar - NOT control or option), shift, 4 and then select and snapshot anything on the screen. It gets saved as a pdf on desktop. I use this often to steal images for my teaching. Very handy indeedy.
Unfortunately the broadband at home needs a pc, and I've tried everything I know to do the same trick to steal images found on web searches that are blocked when you try to save the whole web page. I've asked everyone who knows how to turn a pc on, and scoured the help sites. No luck. If they won't get saved as jpegs in the web page file I have to give up till I can pull up the website at work on a proper computer (oops, hate mail anticipated here

) and snapshot them.
So, is the same trick possible on a pc, and if so, how? I simply can't believe it isn't. Advice from you pc afficionados (spelling?) much appreciated
