Desmo as an expat you should know how reliable the Mail is.
Got an iPhone myself, never really been into getting the latest phones, I had an old nokia 6610 for almost four years before getting this.
It is in a word awesome. They have clearly put a lot of thought into it's usability, you just use it and everything makes sense.
I'm on an unlimited SMS/Internet plan so I'm not concerned about a huge bill when using it's internet features. Already looking at getting some lap timing software and jogging software to take advantage of the GPS and accelerometers.

Dynolicious and G-Tac for laptiming/g-force/acceleration
SynchStep for jogging (changes to different tempo tracks based on how fast you are exercising)
I have them both on my iPhone, they are sweet

For the jogging I was looking at something that tracked your pace/speed and route. Apparantly Nike are making a heartrate add on for the iphone. There is the problem of the acclerometers being turned off when the iphone is locked, hopefully they might make this configurable in 2.1.

Im a Crackberry addict, have been for a couple of years.
Bought the wife an iPhone on the weekend and I have to say, configured correctly, the Crackberry is now obsolete.
I will be getting myself one to replace the Crack in comming days.
I rate it.

Was actually reading about the new crackberry bold.
Apparently on paper it's a better phone that the iPhone.
Anyone got one for comparison? Deeju?

Well, I'm waiting for a call from Terry at Hardley Normals. He said they would get a new HTC Touch Diamond in this week just for me to look at, and that as soon as it arrived he'd give me a call so I could come and get my fingerprints on it.
Just quietly, I'm excited about this one. Terry's great.

Browncow, loads of phones are better on paper than the iphone. Crackberry bold is one of them.. Hope to have one for testing soon
Got the htc touch diamond go the other day as well while we are on the subject... It's pretty cool and all but not as good as i'd hoped.

Bold isn't available in Australia until October. I have one on pre-order, eagerly awaiting it!

+1
I still think that businesses are likely to stick with the BB rather than shift to the iphone.
