One of my emplyess just knicked down to optus to grab one, that was 2 hrs ago and apparently he can only get a white one, which is shit.
PLus now he has "I have a new I-douche" as his desktop.
hahah I love office shenanigans.
Still I dont know why people give 2 shits, Besides the 3g anyone could have got a cracked one 6 months ago. My bro has one, which he got ages ago.

So far I think Optus is cheapest.
Telstra plans suck.
I gotta work out how to port my number over and keep my contract ongoing with 3, so Im not changed cancellation, and I will give my plan to my bro.
Only Morley T-Shop got iPhone today... 4000 units... probably all gone by now.

yeh the dont do mms out of the box, or bluetooth filetransfer, or record videos. I went with my mate today to go get his, its kool, but i'll wait for the x1, which according to the SE rep is ready to ship, marketing is waiting to see the impact of the iphone and waiting for the market to settle a bit. Any time between next week and jan they will be out..

For fuck's sake I hate Apple so badly. They keep everything under wraps from us (the poor fuckers that have to sell their shit products) and then expect us to be able to sell their products with confidence and with a brain full of knowledge when they only release pricing and product info 2 days before launch!?!??!!??!! Geeeezus! Well, to all that got one today... congratulations. To those who didn't... congratulations to you also.
Yes... LuLu is very very jaded tonight.

Well I had to tell everyone that I couldn't sell them one... And Telstra's plans are even more shit.
BTW you will find it was Vodafone's, not Apple's, fault that the pricing wasn't released until 2 days ago

Lulu - What do you have to know, apart from the plan schedule?
customer<sucker> "I'm thinking of an iPhone"
you "They're a nice phone".
sucker: "Does it have MMS?"
you "Hey, it's an iPhone. Want one? They're pretty cool..."
sucker: "well, can I take videos on it?"
you "Dude - it's an iPhone. They're pretty cool... want one? Coz I only have three, and if you don't want it then the next guy in the door can have it instead".
Hmmm
Saw one of the baby HTCs last night, didn't see it doing its thing but touch screen, small, looking good.
Will be interesting to see what the SE competition is like once the fuss has settled down. And the Samsung, the LGC, the HTC etc.
In the meantime, I'm waiting for my little bit of Apple.

iPhone is good but so is HTC Diamond.
I personally have the HTC Touch and love it...only downfall i have is that i don't have GPS (TomTom software) hence why id love to get the new Diamond. Perfect sync with outlook and it hasn't missed a beat since i got it 1.5yrs ago.
I heard that you can't sync iPhone with Outlook?
Also, if the phone breaks you need to buy get a new contract and pay the cancelation fee for the old one?!
All this is according to a Telstra Rep in Booragoon which i found very intersting
Its a nice phone but i think its been over-rated

HTC Diamond looks nice, but it's apparently pretty slow, headphone connections can only be made via that dodgy old fashioned pop-port style connector, it's Windows based and there's no provision for memory upgrade (mmc, sd-micro etc) over the 4GB that it holds.
One day there will be a perfect phone.
I appreciate that it's different for everyone.
But ffs - get it right for me, mr phone designer!!!

My experience differed. Brand new Macbook, babied and only taken outside a handful of times developed a faulty flickering backlight within months. Shortly after the headphone socket played up, disabling my speakers. The plastic casing started separating at the side. Then to top it off the harddrive died, losing all data.
When dealing with Apple I was lead to believe I'd be sorted out as I had an exceptional situation. First they sent me to shop that had a 4 week wait on repairs, it took me 3 shops until finding someone with a 1 week or so turnaround and apple were clueless about their authorised repairers. 3 times they told me I was out of warranty despite being at month 8 of the 12 month warranty, and I got sick of correcting them.
I chased a replacement as I seriously had no faith in the unit after so many faults. I even offered to pay a difference as specs had changed. They not only refused, they wouldn't even let me talk with a manager or supervisor, just putting me on hold for ages and then telling me they had asked their supervisors (quite likely lies, it's an age old tech support trick). I've heard they will only replace units after 4 or so repairs.
Failing this I requested they extend my warranty even for just 6 months, again they flat out refused, so I was left with a patched up Macbook with new components but only 4mths warranty. They tried to blackmail me into paying for "Applecare" extended warranty as they charge like a wounded bull out of warranty, for example $800 to replace the optical drive if it fails. I'll throw the thing away before spending those kinda dollars on faulty hardware.
Also on occasions my backlight still flickers after the repair, and the casing problem was dismissed as 'normal' and they refused to accept that it didn't come that way in the box.
Their software rocks, but their hardware is the same or worse than other vendors, don't think apple = quality. Their after sales service is shocking, no other way to describe it.
