Looking for work - post here
Dont know if this is a good idea or not but here goes.....in light of all the comments recently about being out of work due to the global economic situation, maybe everyone who is looking for work could list there skill background and what sort of work they are after / willing to do. This way if opportunities do present themselves we could try and make sure we look after our fellow PSB'rs.

Good idea I'd like to nominate Andy for anything, but he's having the time of his life not doing a thing. Will revisit this thread when he runs out of petrol money

Im looking for an electrical apprenticeship as we speak, so anyone with any leads (no pun intended would be helpful)
Previous experience as a Trade Assistant for a month or two, great school results.

We have a few jobs going here for our HWE mining division and a bit with Leighton Contractors too...
Some of these roles have not been released to recruitment agenices due to the ridiculous volume of applications being received - PM me if you want to know more details and/or would like to apply
- Experienced dump truck operators - Orebody 23/25 (Newman) - FIFO
- Boilermaker and mobile plant boilermakers - Mesa A - 2/1 FIFO
- Mining Supervisors - Area C (Newman) - FIFO 2/1 or 9/5
-Training Administrator (Currently perth based - I think)
-Contracts Admin (Leighton contractors) - Initially Perth based but eventually looking FIFO for LNG
There are quite a few other related civil eng/project management, environmental and safety/training jobs going here as well - if you are in that field then feel free to send me a PM and I'll check our internal jobs website.

Just a wild suggestion, I know it's a piss poor job for piss poor money, but there are always jobs going at the major shopping centres for trolley pushers. At least it provides some sort of income while ur searching for something better, so try that if you get desperate.

I seriously hope not, I am surprised at some of the lay-offs that have happened the last couple of days though. It was actually Desmos post in the rants column about not getting any interviews out of all the applications he lodged that inspired the idea. With such a vast amount of people on PSB working in different vocations I thought it would be a viable networking tool.
