    Lucky Escape for Truck Driver

Check this out, it came to me in an email, so copy & paste

Apparently this happened last Friday afternoon across at Gearhart's. (King bay)

This 9.5/8" casing had just left Gearhart's yard following inspection/re-coating for storage by Apache, the truck wasn't travelling fast by any means but had to stand on his brakes and give way at the intersection and the pictures tell the rest.

Driver luckily was only bruised and in a bit of shock………………………..he won his lotto in this life.

bit too close for comfort. a lowloader truck from work had a star picket fly through the windscreen and lodge in the back window just to the left of the driver after it got flicked up by a truck going the opposite direction. coulda been very nasty

Do truck drivers check their own loads or just drive them? Also as has been mentioned 'had to stand on his brakes' at a stop sign. Was the stop sign erected during the time it took to arrive and leave?

    Very lucky driver.

Saw almost the exact thing at a Newcastle railway crossing many years ago. The driver had a load of shiny bar and tubes. NOT as lucky. Made no difference if he hadn't been able to stop for the train.
