my internet explorer keeps closing

my bloody ie and firefox keeps closing and i dont know why can any body help?? or know why??

If its both IE *and* firefox, it could be anything.

I'd start with a virus/spyware scan.

- Do they generate any "general protection fault" errors? If so, does it say what "module" failed?

- Do any other apps crash?

- Do you ever get any "blue screen" errors?

- Computer isn't getting hot? (maybe a fan in it has stopped and its overheating, causing instability)

If you can't find any malware, running a memory test wouldn't hurt (should be able to find a bootable cd image with memtest86 on it somewhere).

yeh, pretty much

• scan for virus (AVG) spyware etc (spybot, spysweeper, adaware)
• re-install ie and/or firefox
• check your task manager for sus processes (post a screenshot in here if you have no idea, or google the processes yourself, just the ones with your name, not the system processes are usually the ones you look at)
• perhaps try opera or another browser, just to see if that has the same problem
• close/remove any add-ons/toolbars etc you have loaded/installed into ff/ie
• call your isp. they'll help you (unles they're a pos isp) cos it's stopping you using your internet (i used to work for westnet, so i know)
