New Macbook Pro's to be released this week?

The rumor mill has been going nuts lately, all signs point to a completely redesigned Macbook Pro line to be released this week (Thursday USA, Friday Australia).

Apart from Sandy Bridge processors throughout, Intel's Lightpeak bus will probably make an appearance. Also battery life is set to increase throughout the range, with over 12 hours on the 13" and over 10 hours on the 15" and 17". Screen resolution is said to be increased on all models. Every model will feature a small SSD for the operating system and main apps, along with a conventional HDD.

Now this could be all bullshit, but I'm pretty sure they'll be available before the week is out.

I was in the market for a Mac Pro as I need more Firewire connections, but if these new one's do in fact feature Lightpeak I think I'll grab one.

I wouldn't buy one yet, would hold off for a couple of months. Flawed Sandy Bridge architecture has already delayed Apple a couple of weeks, meaning initial production numbers will still be low. Sure they might launch it but will only be a handful available until they can catch up to demand, likely beginning of April.

Apparently the SB flaws only resulted in a minimal delay (they were going to release these 2 weeks ago).

I don't think Apple would announce the machines if they weren't ready to be sold in large numbers, plus stocks of current model machines have all but dried up.

Im happy with my imac but i will be looking for a macbook pro to take out with me
Maybe these might be what i am looking for i will just give it time for the price to settle and see what people attually think about them.

Waiting is always the best thing you can do with electrical technology if you don't really need it.

The maxed out 15" looks awesome, but it's going to be pricey.

Higher res on the 13" would have been nice.

Pretty awesome that they use Half life 2 as the benchmark for graphics, but kind of strange considering the game is what 5 years old.

Interestingly they don't mention that the cores are Sandy Bridge anywhere on the website... They did bring out i5's and i7's pre sandy bridge. I assume these are them?

Strange because if they were SB they would be shouting it out loud and clear.

Going to pick up a 13" tomorrow. All I wanted was more fast io, the i5 and faster ram is a bonus. Cheaper too
