Norseman - anyone been?

I will be there for the month of October on a rural attachment and much googling/searching doesn't come up with too much. Anybody been there and know of stuff that I could do to keep me interested while i'm there? Wont have my motorbike but will have my 4wd which is pretty capable of some decent 4wding. Hoping to go down to Esperance on the weekends if/when I can.

I'm not surprised.
There is stuff to do I guess, driving, dirt riding, and going to Esperance. Could go hunting if you get in friendly with some locals.

i lived there for a couple of years when i dropped out about 20 years ago, housing was very cheap probably still is,

doubt the place has changed much, little town middle of nowhere and not much else.

Esperance is only 2hrs drive nice place.

There is nothing there beside the roadhouse if you want to try pickup a backpacker or 2.....................
Best bet would be to drive to Esperance and enjoy most of your time there. Longest I have hung around was half a day and that was definately long enough. If you are into the sights then head out to the salt flats and various communities if you get permission.

There is a pub, fine dining can be had at the BP servo, and there are metal camels on the roundabout....... The are three ways out of town, north to Kalgoorlie, south to Esperance or east to the border...... Actually, with a 4x4, you can head west to Hyden.

What is your rural attachment for?

Yeah JEM will be working with Graeme. I see it says you're in Kal. I'm fairly sure we're heading up to Kal on thurs for some sort of clinic? Anaesthetics maybe? If you're around introduce yourself, always good to meet PSB members. I'll keep the Irish Whisky tip in mind mate haha!

Band-Aid, I am off to Perth and Melbourne for two weeks on Thurs. When I get back I will only be in town for two weeks before I move back to Perth.

If it is possible to catch up in the time I'm in town, then that would be great.
