NWS - The missus wants to cut the dogs balls off ! NWS contains pics...

My 18 month old Boxer needs some help and support. The missus wants his balls gone but I keep putting up a fight as I reckon he might need them one day and he may feel the urge to use them with some cute lady boxer. I even asked her how she would feel if I didnt have any balls........ That wasnt too succesful either.

I have told her that we are going to put a poll on PSB and that PSB can make the decision and it will be final. If someone has a lady boxer that may require some lovin' this may also help his cause.

Pro's

He doesnt root the couch, pillows or anything else.
They are huge !!!!!!!
They are his balls and god gave them to him.
He is not at all agressive unless you are a dog that is bigger than him.
He is extremely good with kids.
He wont attack anyone unless you wake him up while he is trying to sleep and he doesnt know you.
You can poke him and prod him and he doesnt care.
He loves licking them from time to time.

Con's

Sometimes when walking he tries to pee on everything (he is slowly growing out of it)
He easily gets sidetracked when walking and has the power to do what he likes when the missus is walking him.
He gets agro at dogs bigger than him or around the same size
If he keeps them against the missus's wishes it could be a bad bad thing for me and him.
Once or twice he allegedly may of mistaken a person for a tree, this has created a couple of really really awkward situations.

Here is a picture of him and his balls.

Dude, we don't really need pics.

Aren't all dogs that aren't being kept for breeding, supposed to be snipped by law?

I think the more important question here is why you felt it necessary to take a close up shot of your dogs testicles...

Keep 'em. The missus took our Ridgeback and snipped his at 12 mths and it took 2 yrs to retrain the bugger, and it didn't stop him trying to hump things.

Best keep them...

Top 10 reasons to keep them (ala Letterman)

10. 'cause if she gets you to take the dogs bollocks off then yours are next.

9. He wont live as long and you'll save on food bills.

8. He'd miss them and be sad.

7. He'll pee like a girl dog cause that behavior isn't learned it's hormonal.

6. Wont look right.

5. Throw him off balance.

4. Other dogs will laugh.

3. Cancer in dogs prone to it is funny.

2. It's a threat to your masculinity.

1. Vets make too much money convincing you to do unnecessary procedures.

If they want to hump things, they will. Balls or no balls. It is a dominance display. My bitch humps male dogs, and cocks her leg on every tree.

U know

I think if they're not puppies, the snip doesn't really change much in the way of behaviours. I had a wonderful doberman who wasn't snipped and you couldn't ask for a better behaved dog (mostly). Some of the behaviours your boy has should be able to be trained out, and he isn't so big and heavy that he's out of your control. And he's so handsome, he's a stud!!!

Well apart from the fact that they are a decidedly unattractive shade and look like they may have had an elastic band around them for a week or more already I reckon keep them for now.

If he becomes unruly and gets the urge to roam in the next couple of years then deal with it then. Your wife will have her opportunity to feel triumphant then.

I have had both neutered and au naturale dogs - didnt really make any difference to their behaviour. They knew where they stood in the pecking order of the family and who was boss. The last fella would get his lipstick out quite regularly but never tried to get out and share it around.

Tell the missus to get her hands off his balls.

Don't live your life vicariously through your dog.
Piss on your own trees, root your own women, play with her puppies.

To many unwanted dogs are dumped each year.
Cut his nuts off.

Hahaha fuck I laughed at you posting your dogs balls, and Melkors reason that other dogs will laugh

I had the same issue of do I or dont I with my staffy and never did.
I think it only changes behaviour if done early in their life before habits are formed.

This.

Unless you are a breeder, and if you were this thread wouldn't have been posted, have him sterilized.

His feet and belly look very pink.
Does he scratch or itch a lot?

I think that on a regular basis his belly and his balls may get caught up on the 2 1/2 foot retaining wall that he can quite easily clear but for some reason doesnt seem to put much effort into.
