So I got my closed beta invite email today at 10:41am this morning & slowly counted down the day till it was 5pm & time to go home. I'm now about 18% installed....COME ON!!!!!!!!!!.....its about a 4Gb download and im getting ~550kb/s

We’re exploring a Diablo-related concept for consoles and are currently looking to fill a few senior console-related positions on the Diablo III team. As we’ve said in the past, with proper care the gameplay could suit the console platform, and we’re interested in seeing what talent out there might be interested in such a project. Certainly, a lot of things get brought over, but a port is trying to take a PC game and graft it onto a console.“Our goal, is to make a game that feels like it’s natively made made for a console. If we make it, we want it to feel like a Blizzard game and that we built it for that platform from the ground up.”
The firm has also spoken to the major console manufacturers, which Wilson said have been “been eager to work with” Blizzard, but he still expects a bit of “negotiation” to still occur regarding the online component.

Im a little skeptical how well that would really work on a console.

The whole game is mouse and keyboard. There just isnt enough on a console control.

saw something in my spam folder, got excited for a second. Damnit, not beta invite.

Still of the "meh" opinion*. In that gameplay teaser he gets wailed on for about a minute by a screenload of ghouls and is never below 80% health. I know they changed the health system so he's picking up health as he kills the ghouls but the point is it just looks boring as shit.

Also the animations look cruddy. The characters look like they're floating weightless. The scene where he's talking to Cain looks like something out of WoW.

Not impressed, pass.

You don't get a chest to drop a complete set of armour usually, either.
Maybe for the gameplay demo they didn't want their character to die as they were standing around demonstrating things so they played a little bit with the damage and health properties?
