i would just like to say prototype is a super shit game, do not buy it...

For the first 30 mins of gameplay I almost gave up on it, then it started getting interesting, once you get upgrades and whatnot.

i would also like to say that arma 2 is cool but it feels like it would be awesome in about 2 years. after playing a bit of the german version ive now got the proper english version (1.02) and its still buggy and frustrating. it chugs on my computer which should definitely be able to handle it.

What chip you have? it's generally CPU bottlenecked.

BTW, we still have nightly ArmA 1 bouts.

I thought i would give the ArmA II demo a go on the weekend. This is how it went:

I have a MacBook Pro which i previously had a winxp bootcamp partition on. I recently upgraded the harddrive, as i was running out of space, so i intern lost my bootcamp. There were two options for running the demo, create a new bootcamp partition or run it through vmware. As i did not want to play it as a slideshow i thought i would recreate my bootcamp, this time with windows 7 64bit.
So i start by burning the iso onto a dvd and create a partition through bootcamp assistant. Once done it rebooted and started to install windows .... well sort of.
I was presented with a black screen with 2 options on how to load my cd, both where blank!!. Maybe DVD was buggered, so I rebooted back into OSX and reburnt another DVD. This time the burn failed as i "lost connection with my drive"....sigh!!
So I can't burn it onto a dvd on this machine i will have to try my other windows machine in the other room, which is connected wirelessly. Copying the 3gig iso across would take forever so i thought i would copy it onto a portable hd and copy it onto the windows box.
The hd i used was my previous MacBook 120Gig hd which i had purchased a firewire800 SATA enclosure for . I copied the ISO on the old windows xp bootcamp partition on the drive in no time, walked over to the windows machine and plugged it in.
Instead of it detecting a new removable drive like a nice computer all I was presented with was a series of beeping noises coming from the portable drive.....sigh!!!
Next option is to copy it onto an older portable drive i had from ages ago which i know works on the windows machine. So i plug it into my Mac and yay i can see the drive. Go to copy the iso across and ........ I don't have write permissions....... F@&king C*&T Fu@#ing Ar$Fa@e!!!! or something along those lines....
Next step was to throw the hd across the room, delete the bootcamp partition, delete the demo and start drinking!

ive given it an hour or two. its just cheap, simple, arcade crap. you can kill 50 soliders with one of their rifles just by running in a circle...

I enjoyed prototype. The only two drawbacks is that the graphics aren't up to todays standards (this I can live with) and the fact that if you want to purely kill zombies, the army always gets in the way. Not so bad first up, but towards the end its a real pain
