    I open the game, try to load a campaign game (any mission) and it will start loading. It gets to about 90% and freezes. It hangs for about 2 minutes then crashes to desktop. I played all the way through a skirmish against a single AI, but then tried another campaign mission and it crashed.

    The error reports are all like this (I cut a whole heap of code out that was meaningless to me, hex codes and the like). I have 4gb of ram, and I've never totally filled it before. I have 2 HD5870s in crossfire each 1gb. The game runs at 1920*1080 because it doesn't support custom resolutions but I can run Crysis at 5960*1080 without overfilling the vram so I highly doubt that Starcraft needs it all. I have the Catalyst 10.7 drivers and Windows 7 x64. The infuriating part is that I was playing that mission on Wednesday morning so I know it can work.

    Stuff doesn't "crash" when filling up physical memory (remember you have virtual mem to call apon)

    This looks similar to hitting the old winxp 32bit "2gb per process memory limit". Except it's not. And everything else runs fine

    Out of interest have you run a memtest lately? (not the Microsoft one !!)

    memtest 86 is pretty good....

    Last memtest I ran was about 2 months ago, I'll run a test now. I'm going out so I'll leave it running. I will try disabling crossfire when I get back. Cheers guys, I didn't have those ideas when troubleshooting myself.

    true that. we had this one game that lasted for 1 hour. We destroyed one guys base and what we thought to be all his SCV's. One must have escaped with enough minerals and built a new Command center. He ended up massing marines with his toss teammate just massing cannons everywhere for map control - to the point where we had to sit on 3 bases. we ended up losing to a 200 food marine/medivac army ...

    we did win a few games from reaper/4 gates rushes tho

    Got it working by reinstalling the game. Memtest was clean afte 43 sweeps and I forgot to test without crossfire but it's working ok now.

    Had an interesting 4 person FFA. I got hit hard early and had only 1 larva, some overlords, a spawning pool and hydralisk den. The attacker retreated (I assume he was under attack) and I used that larva for a new hatchery and came back. Ended up with 3 bases for income but still got overrun by the more powerful terran who hadn't been crippled. It's just as fun as I remember.

    Zero hour is the last Mar Sara mission. The one where you have to hold off for 20 mins from being overrun by zerg as you await transport.
    You get an achievement if you go in and destroy the zerg on hard setting. Can't even get one hatcherie.

    Nvm I've done it now. I was always going out to the right, but going to the left is much easier. So go left if you want that achievement.
