Is such a thing even possible?
Development on the second started immediately after the first, and I'd say the third was well in development by the time the second hit shelves. You can see this in the PS3 version already using the engine from the third installment, rather than the second. The whole universe was fleshed out before development began, so they've got a hell of a lot of the story groundwork already laid for years and they've definitely come to grips with the technical tools.
By the time the third hits shelves it'll be two years since the second, which isn't exactly rushed. Longer development cycles than Call of Duty or Battlefield.
I'm a shameless fan of course, but the universe and the story is basically unequaled in any game or sci-fi film I've seen in years.
@Gimpy: Sounds good man, hit me up if you need a hand building it. I specialise in making custom, gaming PCs for people. If you want a reference talk to James086 or Koola. Added Brink too.
@Pkunk: That date is unconfirmed sorry man. I've used dates that suppliers that I consider reliable claim to be able to get the game by rather than using dates from wiki pages or something.
@Halo_2: Yeh man, it's been out for a while on the consoles, but I'm strictly PC man.
@James086: I can't believe I missed ME3. Good call man. Added.
@Mark0001: HEEEEEEELLs yes. You got paypal man? You interested in going halfers in the double pack. Save $5 each. FIVE DOLLARS MAN!!! I could buy a cheeseburger with that.
@Mirkz: If you havn't played any of them how can you comment? The moment the first game went into production they always knew it was going to be a trillogy. They had the story and everything sussed for years. It's no surprise it's come out this soon, I'd wager they didn't even really have a break in prodiuction. Once ME2 was made they probably just jumped straight into ME3. Considering the acclaim ME1 and ME2 get I shouldn't think ME3 would be ass. It's set to be a VERY anticipated game.

Will have to catch you online soon, maybe i'll see you online tonight, saturday night, where else would we be lol
I think its time to play through ME2 again so i have a save game to get into ME3. Might try a different build for my character aswell.
A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kick boxing.
Fair call. I spose you're right, considering I've not played it I don't know what it's like.
Just going by examples from what I hear about other game series that seem to smash out stuff one after.
I thought ME2 was only released recently last year.
Always been told they're good but yeah. Haven't played em yet.
I bought them as a gift for a mate for xmas for about $30 (for both) on Steam. I think there's usually a July 4th sale on Steam, try your luck then? They are brilliant games.

It's an amazing engine. I don't think we'll be seeing anything like this until Battlefield 3.

The game definitely isn't without its faults but yeh... it's amazing. It could certainly be better and it feels a little clostraphobic compared to the other Crytek games but it's the only game to keep me playing for more than one sitting in a looooong time so it must be good.

I got Bulletstorm today, and I have to say so far Im really liking it. The controls can be a little odd especially run, but overall I would say its like Just cause 2 meets Gears of war meets Quake. Awesome 1st person shooter with some whacky fun elements that had me wanting to see where the next stage would take me everytime I cleared a check point.
The shot to the nuts to see them bend over in pain and then hit them with one in the skull or a swift kick to the face all for the sake of skill points is priceless. Or using your whip to pull them towards you then booting them off a cliff or into a power grid to fry them hasnt gotten old so far.
Sorry, I'm going to have to counter that Crysis Engine with this. I thought I'd already posted it, I guess not. The Unreal Engine 3:
Once again, you're looking at footage rendered on the fly. This is prospective game graphics, not some ingame movie that was rendered in a farm prior.
Oh, anyone playing the newly release Web Browser based game, Spiral Knights?
Don't let the "browser based" bit fool you. It's a fully featured mmo with INCREDIBLE graphics, you can run it full screen, tweak the settings etc. A lot of work done by Ian McConville, of machall.com and threepanelsoul.com
Deceptively simple, with a lot of depth.
Free to play, you can pay real money to fast track stuff if that floats your boat. Take note though, this isn't one of those "free to play, pay to win" games. The stuff you can get with real money you can also get for free, it just takes longer. I think the microtransaction route was taken to entice time-poor cash-rich people to play too. And to make cash.
Anyway, if you want me to send you an email invite (even though its kinda superfluous now that I've provided a link to the game) let me know.
Timebomb of the <Killers Network> guild is me.
I can't wait until gameplay becomes important again.
Not every damn game needs this same "hyper real" art direction, embrace the limitations of hardware and use it to give the game project some individual style.
Anyone playing crysis 2 online? I've heard good things about it and after playing single player at a mates, looks like a lot of fun. (PC of course)
really? $70 for what appears to be titan quest with animals...
