Don't worry Mirkz. The game doesn't last long enough for it to get repetitive.

"Always out-numbered, never out-gunned"
Reviews are saying PC is the preferred platform for Dragon Age. Keyboard and mouse interface is better suited to the game and the graphics are better.
Cheers Ferris, that's what I was worried about cause I knew the gfx card was a bit on the average side of things when I bought it. So I've always been wary of gaming with the pc.
Knew most of the other specs weren't TOO bad though
Shit only 160 for that card from Austin. Not much for a decent gfx card. (And by decent I mean way better than the one I have)
Yeah man, all your other specs are very much upto par. There's a MASSIVE difference in performance between the 8600 and 8800 though. The 8800 was the king of Nvidia cards a couple of years ago.
What monitor and rez do you run at? That'll be the clincher. My 8800 will run any current game thats not crysis on a 30" monitor at 2560x1600 if that's any indication for you.
I only have a 17" lcd at the moment. Possibly looking into upgrading that to a 23", don't really need much bigger than that at the moment.
They're cheap as chips too.
Might look into getting another gig of Ram too seeing its only $35 now days for the shit I've got in mine.
Needa get a new power supply whilst I'm at it too haha. My current one has a dead fan, and I have to use a desktop fan to keep the thing from overheating.
Lots of upgrades to play a gamehahaha
I'm starting to wonder when my hardware is going to become inadequate.
I'm running basically the same setup as Mirkz, but with a 768MB 8800GTS and can still run everything I pull off the shelf cleanly and smoothly in the maximum res my 24" monitor will support.
Hopefully it's still enough to run everything nicely next year when BIOSHOCK 2 is out.
Well, fyi, I use:
8800GTX 768mb Nvidia graphics card (sometimes 2 in SLi, depending on which mobo I'm using)
4GB of DDR2 Corsair ram
A QX6850 (3.0GHz intel quad core) CPU
Creative X-Fi Fatality or Extremegamer soundcard, I can never remember which.
Win7 OR WinXP.
And I play at least 95 percent of all games at full eye candy at my current (24") monitors native rez of 1920x1200. (notable exception ArmA2) So that should give you an indication of where you sit. Mine could do with an upgrade to solid state hard drives perhaps, and mebee a next gen Nvidia card, but currently, for a couple of year old rig, it's a perfectly adequate gaming machine.
i just upgraded my core 2 duo to a quad 2.6ghz overclocked to 3.4 and stable. They overclock so well! And my 8800gts to a geforce 2985. Border lands is around 40 fps in 2560x160060 in 1940x1200

i thought it'd run smooth with the upgrade and its hard to head shot with low fps

I'm divided on whether to get Dragon Age on PC or 360. My PC is ageing a bit, and I'm about to hopefully upgrade - plus I've heard that there's a little choppiness with the graphics on the 360.

You, good sirs, are dicks.
I'm on a C2Duo 2.53GHz, 9500M GS, ASUS Laptop (M50-SV, for anyone who's interested).
I thought it was "capable", but on medium settings, and 1280X720, I'm hitting 25-35FPS on borderlands... I've gotten used to having lower framerates, having mostly played on machines 5 years behind the game tech curve.
Gonna have to build myself a proper rig when I get a real place.
I should be on COD4:MW (for PC) tonight if anyone is interested. From 8pm.
BTW Is there a friend system for COD:MW? How can you tell if someone is online?
Edit: Or someone want to host a game?? Are there bots available?? I am COD:MW n00b!![]()
Now that the Borderlands ramblings have stopped...
DJ Hero?
I've been waiting for the Renegade Edition to be released and someone broke street date on it and I picked it up tonight...
Anyone else played it?
Thoughts?
Me: Well I'm still undecided... I love the idea of the game but it just doesn't seem as fun as Guitar Hero.
Also, I'm already 20% through it after only a couple of hours.
I wonder if EB games' 7 day return policy still applies to games with hardware...
Padfoot: I reckon they'd take it off you without any hesitation...
